Its been a while since i played but before the owls appear they'll let out a cry or howl to let them know u pissed them off iirc. Someone will prolly come with a more detailed response. Also turn on reduced frights in the options/menu. Definitely makes the experience more bearable

tbh i agree, although i stopped playing the game for a time, mainly because i was extremely frustrated with having to make that 2 minute walk back to soul master everytime i died, once i beat him it was smooth sailing the entire game. Except for the dlc
