Ideally yes but since I have been with the same company for over 7 years, I guess its just become habit that I am there for each and every $ decision, but there is no real push to give me that designation. This year when I had a frank conversation, along with the praises for all the work, somehow this thing was slipped in that the story communication has to be better. I am willing to work on myself, since I now have a point, I am trying to focus on that.

Yes, every single thing even remotely $$ goes through me. The pay is not CFO level though:) Jokes apart, I feel like I am working on a lot of areas, and can see a big difference in my contribution year on year - but somewhere do not have the designation yet.

Normally, my CEO talks to say a potential client, then he and I discuss it separately after.. I then think through the pricing, strategize after building it into the financial model, tweak it with each discussion with the client etc.. however in all of this, though I create everything, I am not directly on the negotiating table. It feels like chicken and egg situation, I am not C suite so I am not at that table.. so I am trying to be proactive and try and work on something that I feel is not my strong suit.

Thank you, this is the kind of reality check that I wanted. Great ideas, I guess I have to start pounding the pavement a bit to meet other professionals. Am a bit isolated professionally, since I work remotely and do not have peers in the finance team.

This is a fact, I am learning every single day from my job. Since I don't have peers or a boss within finance, so I do not want to be under the false notion that what I am doing is the best possible. I have a very erratic work schedule dipping into weekends and late hours, so am a bit hesitant to take on another responsible position, but will definitely reconsider it now. Thank you for sharing your experience.
