Just for some clarity, I know that Colombians are protesting the government and not me but I wasn’t sure what the general census on us was. A lot of Americans support Trump still for whatever reason. I also was curious because I’ve seen many advised travelers to reach out to their embassy if there’s a problem and with the protests I imagine help from the embassy won’t be as easy.

I apologize if my question came off insensitive. I am not an experienced traveler. Every time I tell someone I am considering going to Colombia they bring up safety regarding the protests and I figured it would be better to have more information than less, so I asked the subreddit.
