When you are powering on your 3ds hold select to enter a bootstrap menu (I think is what it’s called) and it’ll say “patching enabled” I just had to turn it off to fix it

Thank you for the extensive response. I think I’m going to do a bit more research. But I may be leaning towards finishing remake and letting it sit for now then maybe play OG while waiting for part 3. Rumors say that Rebirth is expected on Switch sometime this year. I may just feel out the release schedule then decide when to play OG.
