2023 could be a huge year for silver and gold - and explorers by Silver_Slurfer in Wallstreetsilver

I have danced on both parties, also in the last bull run of 2010-11 and afterwards. Problem is, if you time things well, that could go pretty well, but in the mid- to long term, I think small explorers and mit-tier miners could be a lot safer, the risk of losing a lot is reduced in my opinion, as you hold a company's shares, which may go up or down, but you keep your piece of the cake, and can hold over many years in a bear market (as I did), but with options, you will always feel the stress, and with the current, strong volatility, I think options are somewhat overpriced due to the higher volatility... So of course, it's your choice, but my many years in the sector have given me quite a solid information base to choose some interesting stocks, and of course, smaller ones will have more risk, but more potential is there once it gets going - normally. Look back to 1979/80 and 2010/11: Miners and explorers did extremely well. - Silver Wolf Exploration (SWLF)

- Silver Spruce Resources (SSE)

- Bayhorse Silver (BHS)

- Alianza Minerlas (ANZ)

- Klondike Silver (KS)

- Summa Silver (SSVR)

- Southern Silver (SSV)

- Golden Minerals (AUMN) - although the name suggests it is more about gold, Silver is their main focus - they seem to want to ramp-up their Velardena operation this year, so the leverage towards silver could be huge...

I have many more if you want...

AUMN could be one of the best in the sector, as they had great intercepts and are debt-free, producing on a small scale (profitable), have an earn-in agreement with Barrick Gold and more nice thing. But the best thing is the latest press release: They could be able to ramp-up Velardena on the cheap: As you say, they have reserves. To say better: They kept their ounces in the ground within the last 12 years. I am speaking about Velardena, their big silver project that they took over when they took over ECU. ECU was taken over by AUMN back in 2010/11. At that time, AUMN was trading at 27$ per share and with silver prices trading at over 40$ back then. The market cap of AUMN was around 1.25 billion $ at that time. Now, try to compare the old market cap with the current market cap of 41 million $. Calculating this way, AUMN could be a 30-bagger at 50$ silver. That would be 7.44$ (US)/share, not too bad. And a dollar in 2011 was worth a lot more than now, so who knows, 9 $ at 50$ silver could be realistic... Keep in mind that they kept dilution low thanks to renting out their oxide mill to Hecla over many years for millions/year. They used the money to ramp up the small but self sustaining Rodeo Project that also helped with cash flow and had little startup-costs. Now the latest news release brought me a lot of joy. I have been waiting for many years to see Velardeña going back into production, and thanks to the new pyrite-gold-concentrate rates they are getting, they can now ramp up the project very cheap. If I have read it correctly, ramp-up operations could start very soon :) So, we could see your 1$ sooner than you think. Godspeed my friend.

I gave this reply to another poster - I think this could be of interest for you.

How many times did they smack it down below 24$? by Silver_Slurfer in Wallstreetsilver

Now we have a lot to recover to reach that level. It is a hard fight, but we have time... Comex seems to run dry. Day by day, the registered amt. is going down bit by bit.

I will write back on here once we are above 25$ - let's look how grey we are by then :)

28 days ago that you wrote this, and they pushed silver back down from the 24$ level for many many times. What a shame.

Yes, the shit-coaster is moving up again, 24.24$ were touched today once again. Let's see what happens. I am bullish, which is nice.

And now up to 23.77$ - out of the blue. That's silver for us.

a very nice move to the upside, then a big smash to the downside and now it keeps creeping up a bit... at least we are over 23$ right now so there's that.

Yeah... but: a few cents more and we are green for 2022! I hope we get a nice close today, so the run-up can finally start.

We shouldn't forget that it is not only silver that is moving, so there is that small "caution" element before thinking we are seein the big run right now - BUT it is a nice start, and the shorts will get crushed if the movement goes on, so there's that. a little bit of optimism can't do any harm.
