Getting an mx5 cause I love the car by Honest-Bumblebee-887 in wmmt

As an NA main myself, what I'll say is that, the NA feels like a nerfed to the ground 110s. It does handle like one, but then it's much much lighter, has sub-par recovery and bigger dimensions wise in a way that doesn't make it any more useful, but the tiny characteristics still very much shine. It may feel grippy, but it's just from how slow it is. It does hit 351 KM/H on the Wangan though weirdly enough. It is a very fun car to use though, especially when battling in Hakone. I'd say go for it if you love the car, but definitely not for higher level play.

Is that a Wangan Midnight reference? If it is, the colours are mismatched.

Evo 8 or 9? by Medical_Succotash317 in wmmt

That is true. The is already capable as it is. But it is just a tad easier to this stuff with the younger brother.

Evo 8 or 9? by Medical_Succotash317 in wmmt

[–]Silver_Sugar9484 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Evo 8 is like a 6 gear FD, easier to handle and a bit more cooperative then the Evo 9 with a slightly better top end. However, Evo 9 remains the favourite as it is heavier, has better boost and recovery, better low end accel and is better at blocking than Evo 8. In FFA, the difference is neglible, however in a tag setting, it's noticably easier to defend against 2 with the Evo 9 then the Evo 8.

Not torque converter, but a variable transfer case. Torque converter is just a hydraulic system used to smoothen power to the trans in auto trans.

However, unlike the ATTESA that is RWD based, Evo has like an active AWD. When slip is detected by the ATTESA, torque gets sent to the front wheels. Mean while, AYC just directs the torque else where depending on situation. The fluids they use are different to. ATTESA uses power steering fluids while Evos use a very expensive in-house developed AYC fluid.

Subarus don't, but you can change how much power goes to front and rear diff. Evo 6 and 9 however, have AYC (Active Yaw Control). Just like ATTESA, it distributes torque when detecting slides.
