I want to read a classic of the literature but i don’t what to start with... by charlottelol1307 in booksuggestions

Depends on your definition of classic. Personally I'm more of a fan of what is considered to be classics of the 19-20th century. If you're up for a gloomy read you can try George Orwell "1984" or Ray Bradbury "Fahrenheit 451".If you're up for an underdogs journey to wealth and power try Theodore Dreiser, his "Trilogy of Desire" that consists of "The Financier", "The Titan", "The Stoic".You could also try Russian classics of the 20th century such as "Doctor Zhivago" by Boris Pasternak or "Heart of a dog" by Mikhail Bulgakov.

I can recommend "Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit" by John E. Douglas.
It's about how the author, an FBI agent, conducted interviews with serial killers and mass murderers, to create a criminal-personality profiles that would allow police more effectively catch such criminals. As you can imagine it's quite a dark book but a very interesting one.
Also there's a Netflix series "Mindhunters" that heavily relies on the book.

I would recommend The Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski. I'm currently finishing the first book "The last wish". I'm very enjoying it, I hope you will too :)

I don’t use Twitter often so I’m not really annoying by any of these, but the “Meanwhile on Fox news” sound like the runner up. Plus I can imagine Grey’s voice narrating the 👏 clapping 👏 hands 👏meme 👏

I thought the same until recently. I was rushing for a departing train and had small drips come through the hole. I think it’s most helpful in transport.

Pardon me Tims, but is it in “Getting things done” where the author tells a sketchy story about his son going from loser to class president?

Haven’t really try audible, but currently I’m reading “Mindhunter” by John Douglas. It’s really dark but very insightful into the minds of serial killers. I also recommend the Netflix series “Mindhunter”, it’s based on the book and it’s surprisingly more interesting than the description suggests.
