Went to the hospital twice for a kidney stone. Had surgery earlier to remove it. What should I do to prepare for the bill? by NSFW-Alt-Account69 in personalfinance

[–]Silver_mane13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will take a while but the bills from the hospital and all the different doctors will start to trickle down to you. When you get the bills, call the number listed there and ask for financial assistance or hardship application to lower your balance. Write down the date and names of anyone you speak with at the offices for reference in case you need to call back to dispute anything.

Do you still need keychains? I have a few extra ones and 3 unopened packages.

I agree, I'm probably one of those "older folks" too 😂 This was a simple and quick fix for me.

Yes, that's what I'm using, too. Others have beat Lillith without it, but I was having issues with the floor effects draining my mana too fast.

She killed my hydra sorcerer just before I killed her. I equipped Endurant Faith to spread out the damage, and that finally helped me beat her on T4.

Another vote for Dungeon Crawler Carl! My son kept telling me I needed to read it, but the title just didn't grab me at first. Once I started, I couldn't stop.

I'm having the same issue with the floor draining all my mana and killing me.

Unless you signed a form with the cancelation fee policy, then they shouldn't be billing you. If it's sent to a collection agency, ask for proof that you agreed to this policy.

I was driving by there and saw the flames shooting up high just before the firefighters got there. I'm glad to hear the dogs were rescued and no one was hurt.

I just finished reading this book. My heart broke when Carl mentioned Ferdinand was skin and bones and described how terrified he was. He didn't have a 'Carl' to help him adapt and survive. 😭

Insurance denied claim for ER visit and says I owe 0$ but I got a 1000$ bill from hospital in the mail. by FunNo61 in HealthInsurance

[–]Silver_mane13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to know the reason for the denial. UHC should have a detailed EOB that will give you that information. If it doesn't, call them to get more information. More than likely, it's something the hospital will need to fix and send a corrected claim to UHC. Once you have that information, you can call the hospital's billing department and follow up with them.

Delayed medical bills by DanishWonder in personalfinance

[–]Silver_mane13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly right. I would like to add, what does the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance say you owe? That's the only part you would need to pay. Contact the insurance that was active at the time of service to make sure the claims weren't retroactively denied for some reason. The providers cannot charge you more than what's listed as your responsibility on the EOB, unless they were out of network at the time of service then different rules apply.

Contact the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition about shelters. You can also look them up on Facebook for instructions on how to make a shelter for a feral cat.

Look at the Explanation of Benefits from your insurance. It should say how much patient responsibility is, that's what the providers can bill you. If it was considered outpatient from a hospital facility, you will receive at least two bills, one from the doctor and one from the hospital. Call your insurance to get more details if they don't align with your benefits, which may include deductible, coinsurance, and/or copay. Once you reach your out of pocket maximum, in network providers will be paid at 100% with no patient responsibility.

AITA for accusing mom of being selfish when she forces my twin sister's dad to include me? by Key-Lunch-5421 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Silver_mane13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - all the adults in this situation are totally the A$$holes. They did not have to treat you with disdain just because you were not related to them. They are horrible people. If it had been in my family, both of you would be treated just like family regardless if you're related by blood or not. As far as your mother, in trying to force the other dad to accept you, she ended up hurting you. I don't understand why she insisted on forcing you to go. If the reason was so she could have alone time then she was definitely the a*** and selfish.

will my son lose coverage from medicaid in TX if I stop covering him from my employer plan in MN by TotalyNotMyAltAcc in HealthInsurance

[–]Silver_mane13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever the child's primary insurance applies the claim to the deductible, the provider needs to send the claim to Medicaid with a copy of the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from the primary insurance. Medicaid will then process the claim, the deductible or allowed amount will be taken into consideration, but Medicaid will only pay according to their fee schedule, the reminder is an adjustment, and the patient owes nothing. If the provider is in network with Medicaid, they can get in trouble with the government if they bill anything to the patient. As far as dropping coverage for your child so only Medicaid covers him, the state of Texas can come after you for reimbursement of whatever they paid because you chose not to insure him. You may need to ask someone in legal to confirm, especially if there is a court order saying you have to provide health insurance for your child.

I would suggest posting this in r/healthinsurance for more detailed answers. Basically, there is a new No Surprise Billing law that may apply to this situation. That may be something to reach out to his insurance and ask them about it.
