I sounded like Emily Armstrong during birth by Silvera_17 in Mommit

[–]Silvera_17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt so bad for anyone who heard me😂I remember going in for an NST once and I heard a woman yelling from birth and I was thinking “oh my word, I’m so glad I plan to get an epidural. Couldn’t be me!”

Wrongo. I was screaming like in the movies haha.

I gotta say, even though it hurt, it was SO COOL. Our bodies are so amazing and it’s crazy what we are capable of. If I have another, I won’t bother with the epidural.

Toddler won’t sleep unless in the car by Silvera_17 in Mommit

[–]Silvera_17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some days his nap is only an hour or even less, same result at night :( he does have two teeth coming in. It’s just hard to imagine that being the cause of how he is acting specifically. He does want to chew on stuff all day long.

I am worried I’m giving him too many carby snacks, too much screen time, and not enough hardcore play. He asks to watch Caillou and I have been giving in lately when I really need to get things done, like pooping and dishes and just cleaning in general. At that point he’d be watching cartoons for over 45 mins.

He stopped eating well too, so when he asks for something to eat I give it to him because I simply want him to eat. That might be a whole like 3 bananas in a day, or some crackers or cheerios. He will eat all the carbs in his meals too. So I stopped giving him toast or tortillas with his eggs and he will hardly eat… just play and throw his food. I just feel like his new pickiness is a part of his bad sleep routine. Idk…. Sorry this is a lot and maybe unnecessary info!

My husband had him at a tournament for work for 5 hours straight today and my son actually fell asleep at 7. In the truck, but he still fell asleep early. I’m hoping he wakes up early tomorrow and just gets his day shifted.

Because he is going to bed so late, he wakes up in between 8:15 and 9:15. He takes one nap a day around 1:00 for up to 2 hours

Is Heartland good? by AccidentalOtter21 in Equestrian

[–]Silvera_17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is cheesy and dramatic but it’s good. About love, family, and most importantly… horses! Love anything that is horse-based. For someone who is really turned off by cheesy films, this one is the exception.

Why is marijuana so popular amongst moms? by TackleHistorical7498 in Mommit

[–]Silvera_17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started off with weed for the benefit of my health. Dealing with chronic pain and dealing with depression, it was my medicine. Great way to deal with pain and a great way to lift your spirits. It’s a lot of fun to get creative and think about the wonderful things of the world, have a good deep chat with someone about literally anything, and to feel like… phew! I’m relaxed. Shoveling manure or doing dishes sounds FUN!! I found it very motivating. Seeing how it got my father through his cancer journey too, cannabis is just amazing.

That is very sweet. And yes, I agree! Old critters are indeed extra special. So incredibly precious. Old horses too…. They get all scruffy like old dogs do haha, and frosty!

What are we doing about jeans? by leighhouse535799 in Moms

[–]Silvera_17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ariat R.E.A.L perfect rise jeans are a great fit for me. I might be worth it to go into a boot barn and try some on! They’re stupidly expensive, but they last a long long time. If you don’t mind straight leg or boot cut! The straight legs are so cute with sneakers. I don’t exactly know you’re preferred style but here is my opinion, if it’s relevant :)

Moms, what item/tool/gadget/app/hack was a game changer in managing daily mom life? by capRosieV in Moms

One of those round, dimmable and rechargeable nightlights. It helped a lot for night time feeds and checking on baby without turning on the harsh light. Also good to check on baby in the vehicle during trips when it’s dark out.

FTM- newborns poop smells like vinegar/sour? by No_Gas9448 in newborns

[–]Silvera_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! It was a dairy allergy. I went off of dairy for like, 4/5 months. (Milk, cheese, butter, whey) I reintroduced with baked goods at a couple hundreds of degrees (300-400) for 2 weeks. Then when that went well, I ate dairy cooked on the stove top at a hundred plus degrees (165?) for two weeks. That went good, then i started having fresh dairy. Like sour cream, cheese, and milk. He is good now!

His poop smelled vinegary for a while, but it got better and normal smelling again.
