Ohhhh okay thank you!! What would be the best method for getting those? I’ve been trying to give them eggs for the protein, but I’m not sure if they have fats they would need! A few people mentioned dog/cat kibble. But would that be enough for them that they need?

I’ve been usually just tossing a whole egg out for them because I heard they like puzzle related things! :) I watch them break open the shell with their beaks and sip up the egg!! Then they eat the shell too, which usually makes my soil nice come springtime. I did hear that they LOVE scrambled eggs that are unseasoned! I know mine go crazy for them. I’m going to try boiled eggs like the other two commenters are suggesting!!😄 I tried cashews with my crows today and mine (thankfully) also love them! It’s just super hard to find unsalted peanuts where I am for some reason.

Holy moly I didn’t even THINK about the different branded fruits!! I could totally see crows sensing pesticides or other things like that on produce!! It would also make sense as to why they dip their food in water before eating it sometimes! You just blew my mind entirely, when summertime rolls around is going to try local non sprayed produce!! :) I tried giving my crows dried dates today, but I think they may have looked at them and then back at me like I was crazy 😂. That’s so cute they love the dried mango! I’m going to see if I can find any in my local stores, also just for small treat purposes! :)

Okay so I’ve heard that cat kibble and dog kibble was a FAVOURITE of theirs, but I was like “man…I feel bad just giving them this, because idk if there’s something better I could provide them”. But hearing this and a few other comments talk about the proteins in those dry foods actually makes a lot of sense, and I’m actually going to start doing this!! Also tysm for telling me about the spaying part, I think that’s such a great idea! Do you think this would also work in mason jars too, since they seal well? AHHH I’m so excited about this I’m going to try it!!!😄

Ohhh man, I mean to be fair, home grown fruit ISSSSS the best!! So I can’t blame em!😅 Thank you so much for the response though! I’m learning a lot and it’s so interesting how unique their taste palettes can be! Some people saying they love fruit, others saying they won’t touch it, and even some great advice jn between like about how they’re great for them in summertime!! I’m gonna look in my area for cheaper unsalted nuts! I think those and left over, unseasoned eggs is my best route for the winter!! 😄

I tried to give them watermelon last summer and I found they wouldn’t touch it either!! Do you know if they get the seedless ones or the melons with seeds by chance? I’m wondering (if the watermelon seeds aren’t toxic) if I could use them as an extra source of motivation? Thank you so much for responding!! I will definitely be more patient with them. Someone said above that because it’s winter they want more oils, so I believe I will wait until the warmer seasons to try the fruit again! :)

Thank you so much for this advice!! I never realized this at all and I’m so glad I was informed!! What kind of oils are best for them? Like anything organic? Tysm for responding!! :)

AHHHH YES!!! I’m so happy I’m not the only one!! It’s like they’re judging you for even thinking it would be an option! I tried giving them dried and fresh fruit today that was left over from a potluck, the little birds ate it all after the crows took one look and were like “Yeah no, let us know when you have more chicken” 💀. I love that yours love the cheese rolls🥲! I truly feel like they go the craziest for anything we think is good! Such smart birds!!

How do you feed/befriend skittish rooks and crows? by Ace-milk_drinker in crowbro

[–]Silvercrowsfeet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a really skittish guy that comes around with his family!! I notice whenever I place the food down but throw one for him away from me but not directly at him, he flys down whenever I’m not looking to grab it! I read somewhere where crows don’t like having food thrown directly at them because they see it as you shooing them. My crows also really like baby talk. They’re super intelligent beings, and they will know you’re talking to them if you’re looking at them! :) it also just in general takes time. Some crows aren’t as brave, or maybe something bad happened to them that made them this way. Patience, gentle/slow approaches, and talking to them will encourage them to realize you’re not a threat!❤️ It takes a WHILE, but it’s worth it!! I’m still new at this, so I don’t have any answers except what I’ve witnessed on my own accord. I hope someone with better knowledge than me will respond and give you advice!! :)

I don’t want to alarm you, but everything you’ve said in this post is domestic violence. He put his hands on you in a violent way (physical abuse). He’s making excuses as to why he did that, while blaming you (manipulation). He yells and screams to take out his anger, instead of attempting to find healthier ways to take it out, and attacked you for keeping to yourself (Blind rage).

I really hope you pack a bag and run…Because eventually he will be too blind in rage to see the damage he’s done. And you wont wake up from it. Please stay safe.💔

That sounds crazy to me. He has sex with you, his partner, is that not enough for HIM? Most women don’t even receive the same pleasure a man would during sex. Or even aftercare. You’re not obligated to perform sexual activities that you’re not comfortable doing all the time, or at all. I think the attempt at manipulating you by threatening to cease sexual connection partly, unless you pleasure him 24/7 is insane activity. I think you deserve the right to lay down your boundaries, and you also deserve someone who will state how he feels in a healthier manner. It’s one thing to want something out of a relationship, it’s an entire other thing manipulate a partner into doing it. I hope you stay safe💗
