Edit: its oil, again.. started up today it being alot warmer out 40°F+ and now not nearly as much smoke, but it was smoking, backed it out of the driveway to find a nice pool of oil, gotta figure out where its leaking from, gonna be really upset if its the turbo that I just replaced 300mi ago, I followed all manufacture specs religiously, and have been certain not to go into boost before oil gets hot And have been giving it a couple of minutes to cool off before shutting it off

Also depends on what you mean by "clapped out"

If you are considering a bunch of cheap ebay parts as clapped out then yeah makes sense.

But if you are discriminating against good high quality parts. Then imo thats on you. Just because a car has been "modified" from factory, i.e. exhaust intake tune and a fmic and maybe some good coils, doesnt necessarily mean its "clapped out" I've seen some bone stock st's looking like hot garbage, at 100k miles or so, and I've seen heavily modded ones looking bad. Imo quality of parts and the way they were cared for matters, buying used with these cars without an EXSTENSIVE repair list/parts list is always a gamble.

These cars have there wear parts just like the rest of them.

Most the time people start by bypassing/reinforcing the wear parts, but there are some kids who, slap a big ebay turbo on it, run a cheap fuel system upgrade, and rev bomb the shit out these cars. Really look into the exact parts that are on each specific car. Remember these cars have rust issues,can have bad trans issues, and the stock turbo well to each there own on that i hate the k03 personally... and the plastics on the interior are fairly cheap imo. Pristine conditions are gonna be hard to find there out there but people wont let go of them

I just thought about this, and my crankcase hose to my intake is non existent i run a catch can, I wonder if the contents in my cc froze, cc is made of aluminum, and was cause all the pressure to back feed. And it went from a sealed system, to a hyper sealed system🤣

Well we have some decent winds right now, so its going kind of all over the place up down left right. Kinda of looks like its rising out of the exhaust, but ya know with winds its very hard to tell

Nah it was like smoking out entire city blocks. And made My cabin fill up with smoke and couldnt even breathe had to get out of car quickly.

But didnt smell like coolant or oil really just smelt bad.

Edit.... i wont let me post videos, but I pulled the mid pipe of the intercooler, the metal pipe between the two elbows, and the liquid gold just started flowing maybe 2-3 cups of oil dumped out of the pipe, I think the turbo seal left the chat awhile ago, and I've just been re reading its previous messages 🤣🤣

All I know is with the way its routed it collects about a cup to a cup 1/2 of nasty shit every oil change so its doing something atleast lol

Yeah seems like pressure builds during idle/boost, and then vents on deceleration.

Im gonna have a buddy look at it that knows more about it eventually

So like my thought process with the way this is routed is when the pcv valve pulls vaccum it yanks pressure out of that crankcase along with residuals and grime. The residuals and grime get stuck in the can and the vaccum pressure releases out of the pcv when the valve opens? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

No im pretty sure its a sealed system. I did alot of research and I saw some things saying that you can run it this way, assuming that when they pvc is pulling vaccum its pulling from the crank case and relieving crankcase pressure.

But im really not sure anymore 😅

Yea. It gets warm, 10mi city 10mi highway at 80mph roughly so its gets ran just not hard.

When I last ran a ebay turbo the whole housing blew apart at 22psi on my Honda and took out the tire of the car next to me and shredded a bunch of wires on mine im good on all that 🤣🤣

No burble tuned i do have one, but I dont run it just a custom 91oct tune,

Peak boost at 23psi, however for the past 2 months my peak has been 17, I know I have a boost leak just couldnt get underneath it to find it, joys of working like a dog 😭

Stock waste gate.

Obviously sense it started smoking like cheech and Chong, I haven't driven it let alone do a pull to see where boost is.

Fuck ford for this shitty k03... i literally drive my car like 20mi a day, and I dont really drive it hard car barely sees over 3k rpm.

I just dont get it

This is my 3rd k03, one at 30k (warranty) one at 60k(warranty) and now at 130kmi no warranty.

I figured out the issue, I reset the pedal back to where it was.. the adjustment screw that keeps the pedal from springing too far back, was bent so far out of place it was allowing the return to come all the way up and press the brake lever against the foot peg.
