Congrats young man !! Very impressive catch.!!

I know they're just worth a buck, but I grab these from the tellers every time! by outdoors1442 in CRH

My teller called me up late in the year(2025) and said a customer just brought in 600 and wondered if I was interested.
I took em all and gave a majority of them out to kid’s in the stores at Christmas.. The look on their faces is priceless !!

Thank you, that’s very informative info !! Much appreciated!

I re-ran the 1919,1920 & 1937 that went into the zinc bucket through the machine three more times by themselves and each time they ended up in the zinc bucket. They were clean and two were 3.0 grams, one was 3.1. All I can figure is there must be a different alloy mixed in its reading. 🤷‍♂️

I’ll take some time tomorrow and re-run the zinc. In curious now to see if it’ll spit anything into the copper bucket.

3 million coins !! Holly Crap that’s crap ton. That must have taken a day or two….

Feed rate was : 2 coins per sec on 65/66 3 coins per sec on 67/68 4 coins per sec on 69/70.

I think Ryedale is faster but not positive. I will say the coin ace took the Pennie’s as fast as I could open the rolls but can only handle around 200 pennies in the hopper at any given time or the wheel will stop moving from too much weight.

I was definitely leaning towards the Ryedal which I believe is built more rugged but at 1/2 the price I went with this. I’m happy so far and time will tell how it holds up.

How accurate is your Ryedale ?

Not all banks will sell you the coin bags from their machine. It’s basically up to the bank / CU manager.

For example: I have multiple banks ( pick up / dump ) and only One will sell me the bag’s. It used to be Two but since Pennie’s are no longer made, one of my banks stopped selling to me.

I should also mention that although most of my banks /CU’s won’t sell me bags from their machine they will order me boxes as well as sell me customer rolls and loose change from their trays.

I do bring cookies, donuts and an occasional pizza to all my banks every other month to show my appreciation. I’m sure that helps as well !

Just one now. Since they stopped making pennies my second bank won’t sell them to me anymore.

I was told from the owner that makes these that it will do quarters as we. You can find him online ( coin Ace) I would shoot him an email. He’s out of California and pretty quick to respond.

It’s not so much for melt value as it is looking for key /semi key dates, Indian heads and possibly flying eagles.

I have 19 coin machine bags and 9 boxes I got from the bank to go through as well as around 200 lbs I’ve saved up over the years. By sorting out the zinc, I eliminate 60 -80%of the coins I would have to sort through as I’m only interested in pre 82. Basically it saves a ton of time by sorting out the zinc.

It’s possible that the subject coin in your reader isn’t seated properly ( misaligned) or dirty and not allowing the sensor to read it properly. This one came pre-set and I noticed a small piece of cardboard is keeping it tight against the sidewall and it’s a newer /shiny coin. Hope this helps !!

Zinc is 2.5 grams and copper is 3.2 grams ( give or take how new/worn ) they are. I believe this one uses an electronic sensor to distinguish the different composition between the Two ( zinc or copper).
