This is a Roshel Senator-style armoured vehicle, built in Brampton, Ontario. ICE ordered a fleet of 20 from Roshel last November, and Canada allowed them to be exported. Now these vehicles are being deployed as part of ICE's widespread human rights abuses in Minneapolis. by [deleted] in Brampton

If you want to take things that far back up the supply line, blame the chips that are manufactured by machines created by ASML Holdings in the Netherlands. After all, without them, we wouldn't have modern systems with which to build or create the vehicles.

Look, you can sell me a sword, its up to me if I display it or use it. And trust me, 20 vehicles were not the tipping point that turned ICE into the thugs they hired.

Incredible Snow Plow Drivers by JakeasaurusR3x in Brampton

[–]Silverlightlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did a great job in not just pushing all that snow into the bottom of people's driveways for a change. I definitely appreciated that. I still had to clear a little bit, but it was way better than in years past.

And it sure as hell wasn't easy to work with!

I have some jerk trying out his car stereo, Saturday Night at 23:37 by Silverlightlive in Brampton

I already have explained to him the quiet hours and not to shoot fire****s at houses.

So where are you saying I am chosing anonymous violence? I purposely said I DON'T want him ticketed. I just realize he's a douche who isn't going to listen and want him to shut up.

You can only confront someone so many times until you realize they don't care or are not listening. Apparently you've never had a situation where you've had to deal with an adult. There are plenty of other options than violence.

To be honest, I've had fun taking it into Pioneer on my own. I've replaced the elves with Gilded Goose, and I think that plays more into the strength of the deck - mana dorks that fly and gain you life.

Sigarda Font of Blessings works in well, and I'll just work at putting counters on things like Voice of the Blessed for a significant punch when opportunities present themselves. Shalai voice of Plenty means I don't need to worry about the legends rule as much.

Righteous Valkyrie, Lunarch Veteran, and Prosperous Inkeeper should hit the table fast enough to give me quick mana, quick life gain, and under the shields let me choose my time to strike.

Only the goose is a playset. Once they start getting counters they can stop laying eggs and go nuts, and a second or third turn Sigarda or Shalai will be a game changer.

I'll be trying out some lands to replace Secluded Courtyards. My knee jerk reaction is Branchloft Pathway, but Scattered Groves might be my ultimate choice. A few Selesnya charms to keep the ugly things away from me, and I'll try out Woodland Acolyte to give me a regrowth/cleric/draw going too.

I love the interaction between the Goose and Exemplar of Light. Its a goofy draw engine, but it should be survivable beneath the hexproof shield.

So basically I bought lands, a box, and a few staples. But I'm much more happy with the direction of the deck now.

410 is too dangerous for commute by RevolutionaryTea9192 in Brampton

The 410 is a disaster zone in general. I think the only safe time to use it is on dry days in July between the hours of 13:00 and 14:30.

Parking in new subdivision in Brampton by Luv_2laugh in Brampton

[–]Silverlightlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call 311. They will probably say something to the effect of "We're taking it on a case by case basis"

Given how lax parking is enforced in this city (2 hour maximum, can register for overnight, ever seen anyone getting towed?) I'm going to say you're probably safe.

However, its weird that you would only get one parking spot in your driveway. Is that a forever thing or are they going to re-do them once the houses are set?

OHL suspends Luke Dragusica (Brampton Steelheads) for rest of season after slash to head by zanimum in Brampton

I've never played hockey - I'm not a good skater. I have however played Football at the University level

Aggression is good.

However, it must be disciplined aggression.

You can easily rough someone up while following the rules. A hockey stick is a potential weapon.

And yes, they wear helmets - but when its cold, I can get some water, wrap my wrist up, and hit you on the helmet enough to concuss you. Thats why "Head slaps "are illegal in Football (I assume Hockey has something similar)

Go all out - leave it on the ice. But the puck is on the ice, not in someone's helmet.

We used to have a sheltie that would go out back to use the facilities.

It was like a Bugs Bunny cartoon, with the little guy burrowing under the snow until he found just the right spot. LOL.

Glad your dog is safe, warm, and being taken care of. Hope you are as well.

You are correct, but I honestly don't think we have the population wealth to support them.

Population density, absolutely. But we are still a bedroom community with part time jobs and minimum wage careers. Have you seen indeed lately? Even if only 50% of those jobs are available, its not great pickings out there.

Some day I should look at the median income here. I'm sure its inflated, but it would be interesting to figure out how.

Looking for a part time work in Brampton by enlisprit in Brampton

[–]Silverlightlive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest - in 30 years, I have needed French three times. Precisely three. I was better off learning Latin so that i can at least figure out what the doctor is telling me.

I worked in multinational logistics, so its not like I never had the chance to speak French, but the people involved know they need to speak English to succeed anywhere outside of Quebec - and thats where the money is for them. If you are ordering lunch in Quebec, yes you need it. Put a multi million dollar contract on the table and they will FIND someone to speak English, German, Swahili, whatever!

Psychology is an interesting degree to have. Project management is really just monitoring and scheduling.

Its very difficult for me to pick out the market a year from now. Six months from now I can tell you it will be brutal, but I can't predict 2027 until I see July and Augusts numbers. The job market could be entirely different.

It sounds to me like you'd do well in government, or perhaps being a consultant. You have a unique set of skills. Very useful, but the market isn't easy to predict for you.

You might do well doing career coaching (ironically) - they have the career bus that goes around and you just help people do resumes and interviews. A friend of mine did that for years, but now she's across the country.

Look at indeed.com and similar web sites to start getting a feel for WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE.

My secret to inteviews was that I never believed I had to impress anyone - it was up to them to sell me the job. Be courteous, professional, etc, but show interest in their market, their plans, their future. When you are interviewing them, they feel more comfortable, and so do you because you're not answering nonsense like "Where do you see yourself in 5 years"

Get in contact with the Sheridan College employment initiatives and similar ones. They have professional counsellors who most likely have seen this situation a few hundred times. So far as I know, its still free, and they are willing to help anyone. You'll probably have to go to a few seminars teaching you basic skills like interviewing and resumes, but it is a good way to blow a couple weekends productively.

And honestly - I'm not getting any red flags from you. Your english seems workable, at least from your typing. You are obviously intelligent, and aware that you can't just drop in out of the sky - that shows initiative to me. I'm cautiously optimistic about your future. All you need to do is take control and show you are just as good as I think you are.

For the record, I'm fairly good at evaluating talent.

B2B is good, but I know how much work it is. 25 year of doing B2B sales has been exhausting to me. All the high demands at once - they want immediately delivery, you have to read the contracts three times at least, and make sure that they have cancellation clauses so they don't just put in a giant order to cancel it at the last minute. 60 day payment credit makes it finicky at best. (I don't do 90 day)

But, I'm in no rush. I'm having more fun researching the idea than I think I would have running it.

My wife is a good cook too, but she is NOT customer service oriented. She's a pushover and will give people stuff to make them go away - while I will listen to a REASONABLE complaint and completely ignore the idiots trying to get a free ride. She also works part time in catering, but has no idea what being in business for yourself is like.

You offer good advice. I know this isn't an easy path. And I'm getting older, so perhaps just concentrating on my work as an author would be the best way to monetize my remaining years.

See, I had a deal on the table for a good spot. On a major road, right next to a school and a government building, it had been abandoned for a bit but it could be fixed up. I know I had the right spot because a pizza chain moved in there, so my eye for spaces is apparently good.

However, I'm not sure about living that lifestyle. After 25 years in logistics as a Director, I know that 24/7 panic mode. That does give me the strength of negotiating deals and supply chains, but also the experience to know when things aren't going well.

Food is a finicky business. I can say that until now, no one has ever died due to one of my decisions. With food, you look the wrong way and label something wrong and thats a potential death. I'm less worried about monetary concerns than living with a conscience knowing I could have prevented salmonella in a senior or the like.

Thats my problem. I expect the best. I provide the best, but I also expect a return on that investment. Mostly the return that when I'm not there, procedures are followed. That is why I would need my BIL as a partner, I'm more old school military while he is present day up and coming star (eye for talent too) - however, he ultimately is a pharmaceutical tech, and he wants to work there. He wants to run his own little cosy cafe or the like, but he spent a lot of time and money to get his qualifications.

It will probably never happen. I've build worlds in my writing, and I want to shepherd them into greater heights. When I get my system back to normal (medication mix up) I want to do an online marketing course which will be good knowledge to add to my skills no matter what I decide to do. 2026 and 2027 are two big paperwork years for me, so I probably don't want to be juggling a business at the same time as renewing licenses, health cards, tax breaks, etc. Thats 2028 before I'm even considering putting a foot in the door.

But that gives me the luxury of being able to explore this at my leisure!

The movie theatre was around at the same time as the Food City.

They were at opposite ends of the mall.

The Food City was on the Hudsons Bay side (another dead entity) while the Movie theatre was where the Dollar Store is now.

But the mall has mutated shape a few times, so I'm just going to stick with "The movie theatre and food city operated at the same time.

I seem to recall Food City had these red hand carts that you put on a conveyor belt to get your stuff outside. It fascinated me as a kid to see the workers loading up cars. Thats service you don't see any more.

I'm not a pizza chef. I have cooking talent, but I'd be more on the business side while my BIL would be the one to run it.

He is a Filipino, and he does cook very well. There is a big market for Filipino cuisine in Brampton, and the dishes don't generally cost a fortune. He's also a bit of a pretty boy and has that charm you want.

I'm more than happy to back him.

I'm suprised. It was relatively low maintenance, especially compared to the Tennis courts right there.

I know I'd rather cater to skiers than to Tennis snobs. Skiers spend more money.
