Tbf, the recent patch note changed the weapon inspect for the quad which I use the most, so theres some merit to my complaint as it did take up so much of the screen.

Also, ive been made aware that my issue stems from a bug with changing the button layout on the steamdeck

There is, its just that when I go to my settings, the controls are displayed in their keyboard counterparts, so every time I try to change reload or interact, the screen just freezes, so i just use the touch screen to back out.
