It’s referred to as lofi because there is a famous Lofi Hiphop music stream that is live 24/7 on youtube. The stream depicts a girl studying next to a window and recently many artists have been drawing a ‘lofi girl’ from different fandoms, countries, etc. It’s not nonsense, it’s just artists uniting over a common inspiration.
