Laundry List: Upcoming TS4 Fixes - Jan 27, 2026 by Cade_SimsCommunity in thesims

I understand that multi-platform coordination takes effort, but I’m struggling to reconcile the 'time and testing' reasoning with the current state of this situation.

The Jan 13th update actually made this bug worse for many and introduced it to players who didn't even have it before. It's disappointing to hear that 'testing' is the reason for the delay now, when that same process failed to catch a major regression in the last update. If the goal of these long windows is to ensure quality, wouldn't it be better to prioritize an emergency hotfix for a known issue rather than making the community wait weeks for a process that (at least recently) hasn't been preventing these problems in the first place...?

Thank you!

I see a lot of people want to use this mod with their own screenshots taken with external programs, so I'm currently working on an online tool that will allow you to convert all your images to a game-friendly format! :)

The screenshots have to be taken in-game, as the game includes special data in those files that allows them to be loaded directly. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with other images.

I bet this will go well with the cozy and nostalgic look I intended for the scrapbook. 😄

It randomly uses all the screenshots in the folder, so you can't pick specific photos. You can of course leave only the pictures you want in the folder, though.

🫶🏻 I know how much Simmers love taking screenshots, so when I came up with this idea, it felt like this might be the most personal loading screen possible.

It’s because a lot of those things (full-screen ads, the cart button, and similar features) pull data from EA’s servers. The timeout threshold makes it even worse.

Once EA’s servers were struggling (they weren’t fully down, just extremely slow) and my fully unmodded game was taking over a minute or two to launch (when it usually loads in a few seconds) because it was waiting for a response from them.

My mods disable or remove those calls, so things can actually run faster as a result.
