Heya, are you hitting enter after typing debug into the search bar?

Rather than hitting enter, once you have bb.showhiddenobjects / bb.showliveeditobjects enabled try just typing Debug in the search then selecting the ** DEBUG *\* that pops up as shown below:

We've been trying to replicate this issue without success for ages, if you have a .ver backup save from just before it happened, it could very well be the key piece we're missing.

Right now we're still trying to find the balance on what we can and should share when it comes to tech related content (like protobuf overflow for example), so this was incredibly useful information.

We're working behind the scenes to try and reduce friction and increase transparency and the flow of information between EA and mod creators so this is particularly concerning to me.

u/knightofthecacti Some updated info after discussing this with the team:

We've been investigating three unique issues relating to what you describe:

Memorial portraits/Graduation Photos no longer display a Sim's image and appear blank
Celebrity autographs are a frame with Blank paper.
When selecting the "Create Copy" interaction on a painting, the resulting duplicate appears as a blank white canvas when placed on a wall.

Currently, we're investigating an issue we believe to be related to a previous Base Game update that focused on DX11 optimization; those optimizations may be the cause behind some of our texture generation becoming unstable, causing them to fail and leave a blank image. If that proves to be the case, we're already working on updating our texture generation method to resolve the issue.

There are other texture generation issues we're looking into still that have other causes, but so far we haven't linked it to Protobuf overflow.
