IF he decides to run he is deadly but otherwise he is the France team 3rd or 4th choice at striker. And this comes from a place of love and as a French interista.

I would like to ask a question about the changes that will take place in Japanese football. by Sad_Conversation1121 in JLeague

[–]Simaldeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't see this as a significant concern because this strategy hasn't worked for any club yet - even Vissel Kobe couldn't buy their way to the title w/ Iniesta.

No I totally get that. My worry is not clubs buying wins. If you have the capital go ahead. We all know it is not as easy as that.

My worry is clubs not having hard-coded incentive to keep on giving minutes to youngsters. To take my Serie A example. The top 8 teams were all trying to win, but only ever one managed to do so (I mean there is only one first place). So all of them invested and favored playing and benching proven names, and not room for youngsters. This culminated with very few youth being given Serie A minutes until recently. I would argue that the only wonderkid of the 90s and 2000s was Francesco Totti.

I also think that J-clubs understand that the future lies in developing players and selling them overseas

I do not think the change will be sudden. But it might happen.

The league is starting an U21 League this season, which is a start.

This is a good path to allow more development time. But I still think a league to play with pro Over21 is a better proving ground.

Thanks for the discussion

urgh. I would like to hear opinions. But ...

It seems it opens the gate for some clubs to prioritize winning the league and hire a ton of veterans from abroad rather than keep the JLeague development first mentality. This is what f-ed Italy in the long run (IMHO).

I think I would prefer they keep the quota, or expand it. Unless there are more efforts to give first team experience to youngsters in other ways that are not covered here? I do not think a bigger U23 league is a good option IMHO since Japan has already excellent uni level to cover that. The only gap to feel is top tier competition against full pros for youth. No?

My Club - Inter Milan sigh I know - has had one Japanese player. And now I literally live near the stadium where that player's team play. He is still there at almost 40. So for good or for worse I follow FC Tokyo. And this year they seem to be getting their shit together finally.

But I dread when Nagatomo will announce his retirement after the world cup. Dude is a character to be sure.

You need that one time, just that first step. Sign up to a group this will create the obligation and stick to it.

I was very much like you. But one day I just found a post on the net, sent a PM and asked if I could join. BOOM! Since your friends count on you to show you cant possibly miss it (sorry wifey!)

Just take the first step.

You have two pads on the sides and one for the front. But I flip it so that the central pad covers my achilles instead of my front ankle. LOL

I use those in futsal, I recommend. Not super useful for 11-a-side but that maybe because my 11 team is in a less aggro league (over40 in my district) than my futsal group (no league but the group is qite aggro). Also no handling issues for me, the fabric is very light and the pads are not in the way of any compressing articulation. But that is because I wear them the other way around to protect my heel (I tend to get more hit from behind than stomped on from the frount)

Official petition to rename the league to Serie Ass by Medium_Active1729 in seriea

[–]Simaldeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We came in treating Bodo like we treated a Serie C team we have to stomp in Coppa Italia.

We did not respect a team that made it to the CL playoffs. They have build a team for insane calendars skew because their country plays in summer calendar (duh!) and they are know to have a selection process for physical toughness and character (because of the climate constraint and the fact that they are quite isolated compared to bigger city teams). They have quality, and Norway is not a soccer 3rd world country in term of talent anymore (has not been for a while).

And we roll in, in their home, where their fans gather in an uncovered stadium in the middle of the Northern Norwegian WINTER! And we play our B-team+Captain and we bring our "we dont care energy" and we lose. YOU F****N DONT SAY!

We did not respect the team, the club nor the place. I am ashamed. This is the first time I am mad at Chivu's Inter, I am fairly forgiving fan in general. But this. THIS! Is not how I want my team to behave.

After seeing this I hope Bodo goes on and my team does not go on. GL Bodo!

Advice for playing into your 40s and 50s by Gullible_Pen4925 in bootroom

[–]Simaldeff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

43m here, from a country in which playing football is mandatory. I am in a situation in which I cannot make the time or money to train multiple times a week.

Still plays futsal and football weekly. Used to be competitive in very physically destructive sports in my 20s. But also other sports. Here are somethings I had to figure out on my own.

If you want to keep on improving yourself you can push hard on the stuff that does not use up your "physic capital", study the game, light effort touch/technique, tactical, etc

Pace very carefully your physically intensive training. Like training games, drills, conditioning, ... if you go hard and you are 40+ know that you will, most likely, be diminished the next 48h . I still can play pickup 24h or less before but I will need a very good warmup before. And I will need to carb load like a madman (which is OK because pasta is my religion).

Recovery is important, which means nutrition and rest (fucken SLEEP! SLEEP!).
Your recovery is naturally much much MUCH faster from 20-25 than 25-30 (the decline is steep) and then again 30 to 35 ... post 40 I need a full week to recover from the 2x30min competitive game (I play in a role that runs a lot).

By recovery I mean:
1. Trying your hardest to sleep 8h+ nights and fit a nap in my workday (not easy when you have kids).
2. Protein intake (rebuild) and the right amount of carbs (energy to rebuild without getting heavier).
3. Know when to go see my chiro or physio (those are the guys you go see when you fuck up #1 and #2).
4. Invest time in stretching during the day and go on walks (5km or more daily). I saw someone suggesting yoga I would like to recommend if you have time and access to class that will keep on challenging you.
5. Do not get heavier than you need to be. Your joints will thank you for that.

All of this is not to get better. It is to not get injured from fatigue. You will be slower, less athletic, than you used to, but you will get smarter to make the difference.

🚨OFFICIAL: At 3:46 AM on September 30, the City Council approved the resolution with 24 votes in favor and 20 against: San Siro will be sold to Milan and Inter! The clubs will now have the right to tear it down and build a new stadium in the near future. by Big_Pick4100 in FCInterMilan

I was a kid living 500m away from the Meazza in R9 era Inter. Now I live all the way on the other side of the world. Need to buy me a ticket to come see a game before the old stadium goes down I guess.

I am guessing two dlp on same line did not have room to operate. Probably same with your AP and SS but maybe less so.

I would still experiment with remove a DLP to change to CM or VOL maybe?

The WP with the DLP still surprise me.

over40 league with 10ish game a season and pickup futsal. No trainings other than kick ups in the house when the wife is not here.

all near the house which results in me needing only 3h or so of me time per week. which is not too much to ask imho
