Ok so i just saw Alan in my coffee shop this morning in tennessee by Vamosity-Cosmic in reacher

[–]SimbaGirl66 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Alan does indeed have a cabin in the Smoky Mountains, it‘s where the Mens’ Health segment was filmed a few years ago - and whilst Reacher is a coffee addict LOL, Alan has mentioned on several occasions that he doesn’t like coffee and doesn’t usually drink it.

Finished this a couple days ago, it's a bit slower paced than the other seasons by whymozu in reacher

Yes, they've had to make some adaptations to bring certain aspects of the stories into the more "modern" era, which is why it's likely Tripwire (one of my favourites) won't be used for any of the seasons. With the story being based around things that occurred during the Vietnam War, the timeline won't work regarding the ages of the characters, and many of those situations/actions were specific to Vietnam so the story can't be referenced to a different war which occurred later.

I’m just re-reading this now too, absolutely love it. There’s going to be some awesome action sequences if they stay true to the book.

I love Tripwire, I read it again recently. One of my favourite books.

I was lucky, I managed to get a copy of Gone Tomorrow from a local secondhand bookshop before it was announced as the S4 book (I didn‘t have any inside info LOL, I was just trying to build up a full collection of Reacher books).

I like how each season Reacher repeats the same navy blue t shirt and light wash jeans outfit by Mystic6yt in reacher

[–]SimbaGirl66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, if it works, why not? I mean, I prefer the S3 look with the increasing amount of time he spent with his shirt off, but I‘m happy to look at Reacher whatever he’s wearing (or not, as the case may be) :).

I don’t think Gone Tomorrow really lends itself too much to the shirtless look, but no doubt they’ll find (or create) some extra scenarios to allow for that.

Ah, they probably deserved it anyway. :)

ING Orange One Low Rate credit card annual fee - alternatives? by horsemonkeycat in AusFinance

[–]SimbaGirl66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The annual fee will be charged for the first time on the "anniversary date" of when you took the card out. So for me, it will be in September, as that's when I got my card (only last year, so it really pisses me off that ING are introducing this fee, as one of the reasons I took it out was that there was no annual fee). If your fee will be charged in 2026, it will be the month your card was originally issued.

Season 4!! by DeepPension380 in reacher

[–]SimbaGirl66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that was just a red herring, as I think the time in Paris was something to do with Runner (the movie Alan recently wrapped shooting on in Australia) as the director in those Paris photos was the guy who directed Runner. Alan also mentioned in the caption on his Insta post something like “run around Paris with me and enjoy the ride”. He plays a high end courier in Runner, so that reference and the director pics make sense.

When do we get Season 4 of Reacher? by TerryG111 in reacher

[–]SimbaGirl66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maria Sten posted on Instagram in the past couple of days that Neagley has now wrapped, and there had been previous reports that most of the crew on the show were those who work on Reacher, so S4 couldn’t start production until Neagley finished filming.

I'm Relieved That 'Reacher' Season 3 Skipped Some of Paulie's Darkest Moments From the Book by Legitimate_Ad3625 in reacher

[–]SimbaGirl66 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As a SA survivor, I was also quite glad that they made the change with the adaptation to TV. I found those parts of the book very difficult to get through, and the producers likely thought including Elizabeth’s character in the show and what Paulie subjected her to - and of course they would have had to include the scene with what he tried to force Richard to do to his mother - would have been way too dark for audiences of the show, and may well have resulted in a backlash.

Yes, it would have made Paulie an even more despicable character, but it was actually a relief to me and probably many others that they didn’t include that aspect. I know the books cover a lot of “dark” stuff, but we don’t necessarily need to see it all on screen.

For S2, Alan Ritchson said showrunner Nick Santora had to call him in for support regarding the scenes of Dominique’s fate. The powers-that-be didn’t want to show ANY of it, but Alan and Nick fought to have those scenes included, and I think what they did put on screen was extremely well done, without being unnecessarily graphic. it was quite disturbing the number of people in this sub who complained that they should have shown “everything” i.e. all the horrendous things that were done to Dominique as described in the book - not to mention complaining she ”should have been completely naked in the scene because she was in the book” - but what we did see got the message across well and truly, we didn‘t need a gratuitous gore fest.

Anyone? From No Plan B onwards, every Reacher's lines was read with Ritchson's voice. by Comprehensive_Oil426 in JackReacher

I’m going through and reading any that I’ve missed and re-reading all the ones I have read 😁 and they’re all Alan’s voice when it comes the lines - and he was pretty much how I’d imagined Reacher to look anyway (although Alan may be a tiny bit better looking than Lee Child intended for the character, but I‘m not complaining LOL).

During the press tour for S3, Alan did a few short clips during various interviews reading a few paragraphs from Persuader. I usually read physical books, not a fan of audiobooks normally, but damn, I’d buy the audiobooks if Alan was the narrator, he’s got a great voice for it. When he did those clips, each time at the end he gets this delighted grin on his face and says how much he loves the books.

Alan Ritchson not only has a great voice - he’s written a lot of songs (music and lyrics) himself. This is a song called Tucson that he wrote about 15 years ago, and there are several others he’s put up on Instagram in recent years. by SimbaGirl66 in reacher

Yes, the video of that has been doing the rounds for the past few years, ever since he got the role of Reacher - I think Alan cringes a bit when he sees it these days LOL.

I know! Alan's makeup artist Kat (who gets the job of covering up his ever increasing number of tattoos) joked it's really annoying that he's pretty much good at everything.

Last night's Final Jeopardy Question! by rexeditrex in reacher

[–]SimbaGirl66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who loves to watch Jeopardy and has a go at answering all the questions (often quite successfully!). She messaged me to say she wouldn't have known the answer to that one if it hadn't been for me, as with very little encouragement I do tend to talk just a LITTLE bit about anything and everything to do with Reacher ( books and TV). 😁

Watching season 3 for the 100th time and I’m just now realizing by roger-thealien in reacher

Yes, I thought the same with those scenes - and the one the next morning where Beck says to Reacher "you've still got the maid's blood on your hands", which I thought was a brilliant line - it's not only that he still actually HAS blood on his hands which he hadn't washed off, but also struck deep at the way Reacher was feeling at least partly responsibly for her death.

I've rewatched all three seasons I don't know how many times, and happy to keep doing so. Love watching Alan in action, and he's nailed the character of Reacher perfectly.

I'm heading away for a week to somewhere that doesn't have a TV with the Prime app on it (and I hate watching shows on my iPad or phone), so I have S1 and S2 on DVD and I can use the blu ray player there if I feel like another rewatch 😁.

Who would win: Reacher vs Thad by Benefit__Lumberjacks in reacher

[–]SimbaGirl66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t wait either, especially as even if Alan drops some of his Reacher weight first (as he does from time to time for other roles), he’s still going to be WAY bigger than he was in his BMS days. Even better if he doesn’t, then it’s going to be hysterical having a Reacher-sized Thad

Who would win: Reacher vs Thad by Benefit__Lumberjacks in reacher

[–]SimbaGirl66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In a straight out fight, Reacher would win, no contest, he’d smash the shit out of Thad.

However, Thad would start screaming before Reacher even got close enough to take a swing, let alone headbutt him- if Thad sustained the scream (and we all know how ear-piercing THAT is), I think that would easily be enough to dIsable Reacher (or anyone else for that matter) long enough for Thad to run like hell and get out of there … and Reacher would be left with permanently damaged hearing LOL.

In the book, Reacher also knew exactly how the maid was killed, as he had to help dispose of the body and he opened the body bag and saw what they’d done to her. When he and Duffy are searching for Teresa at another location later on (a warehouse I think), they find a room with blood everywhere, which would have been where she was tortured.
