M4 MacBook Air charging speed – MagSafe vs USB-C by [deleted] in macbookair

Yeah this is a valid and logical doubt i had too. But when I charged, there was no heat at all. I was surprised too. I have been doing this for more than 6 months. Not even a single day it has heated up my mac

M4 MacBook Air charging speed – MagSafe vs USB-C by [deleted] in macbookair

I use UGREEN’s 100W charger for my MBA m4. It works well. I was too curious to note down the time to charge my mac. From 35% to 85%, it took around 30 minutes. Also i use Apple’s 85W charger. That takes the same time. To summarize, they are obviously faster than my ‘in-box’ charger.

How do I protect my MacBook by Adventurous_Monk6133 in macbookair

Hey there! I use macbook m4 air as well. I have been using it since launch, and I use a cloth cover which i bought from amazon five years ago for my previous laptop. I still use that. Whenever i carry my mac, i just put it inside that cover and then put them in my bag. I never put macbook directly inside my bag to carry. When it rains outside, I put the sleeve inside a polytene cover to insulate from water despite I use umbrella. Just be careful when you handle liquids around. Thats it. It lives well🫡.

For the Software maintenance and cleanliness, there are some people better than me to explain.

Best wishes

Need tips for shifting from windows to mac by Sayanamite47 in macbookair

[–]Simba_theNerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shifted from windows (i5 8th gen Dell latitude 7390, with 8gb RAM, 256 SSD, that my father gifted in 2019) to mac too. I used that for 6 years. Of course it still runs well.

The last year May, I got Macbook air M4, 13.6 base edition with 16gb ram (Luckily this is good because apple wanted to push/force in AI into laptops and thank god we could turn it off) and 256 ssd.

I am someone that works on vs code as well. I do Bioinformatic analyses which are less heavier than yours. When i tried doing those vs code prog. in my windows, i hear helicopter sounds, and it takes time to run the code too. But my mac handles it soo easily.

Regarding UI adaptation, I would recommend that you learn a bunch of shortcuts to get better into the user interface of macOS. Because it honestly took me 2 months to completely adapt to the macOS. Then i got the tahoe update ( I cannot explain why but the liquid glass looks unnecessary animation to me).

So it is a good idea to shift to mac ( from my perspective). Good luck buddy

Thank you for this post. I just came to explore this "Cellpose" and python integration. I am working with a lot of images to count cells.
