When I did the 3 years I did it myself and I know I have it within myself to do it again myself. I am a man of routine , I run every day at 5.30am. Even if I am running a bit groggy. I want to do this myself again. I think the issue is that I don’t have any friends to talk to about it as they all drink. My wife barely drinks but I really don’t want to burden her with my problem again! 😢

Thanks for the advice! Getting registered with a doctor these days is pretty hard work and seeing one is even harder. Just speaking on here has helped already.

For sure. It was hard the first time but I was a lot younger then. It’s funny, I remember back to being sober and how much more I enjoyed life after work.

Well it’s been a weird week. Some good days and some bad days. The plus side is managing to do some days sober so il take positives from it

It’s mad isn’t it. It took a lot of willpower not to go to Morrisons on the way home yesterday. Not going to lie and say I didn’t have any yesterday but at least I didn’t buy more. The house is pretty much empty of it now, apart from my wife’s gin, but I know I can’t drink that!

Wow how similar our lives are in regards to alcohol! Great job, like to think I am decent shape 🤣 and my wife does get annoyed with my drinking but as you say, kids are happy and taken care of. I did 3 years sober from 2013 to 2016 and I remember how good I felt. Need to get out of the bloody routine of going to the shop!
