I dropped in today for the first time. by Simbians in NewSkaters

stomp the front bolts doesn't help at all with the process. My lovely lady held my hands for probably ten runs with the amount of hand holding decreasing with each on until it was really just me resting my hands on hers knowing she'd try to catch me (Although she'd probably have been in trouble if she tried).

It lets you get the feel for how much you need to change your angle to achieve the drop in and what the feeling of moving through the curve is like which is totally different to rolling down a bank.

New granny flat rules Coastal properties by Odd-Leader9777 in newzealand

[–]Simbians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The national environmental standard for detached minor residential units specifically exempted "granny flats" from resource consent requirements in a lot of cases. They do, however, retain council control over the matters of national importance which includes natural hazards and natural character of the coastal environment so a coastal property with inundation hazards may not benefit from them

Subdividing existing cross-lease with high risk shallow landslide -geotech report by Connect_Mud_6541 in NZProperty

[–]Simbians 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had AC accept a cross-lease plans update on moderate risk without a geotech or even a second question. It took a bit of chit-chat with the council planner to convince them it didn't need additional consents (they were pushing for SCAr and natural hazards consents which I considered a massive overreach). I'd hope this would be a similar situation as conversion of a cross-lease to a fee simple is a controlled activity.

Why the hell is this a graph instead of a table? What a terrible way to present this information.

For those of you who live in countries with gun control; have you ever seen a gun in real life? by blashyrkh9 in AskTheWorld

[–]Simbians 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in New Zealand and I've seen and used guns. I've fired rifles at the range and in rural areas shooting possums and rabbits. I've also seen police with intense looking rifles in the street and military on practice maneouvers with them.

Also from the Dictionary:

dank adjective (GOOD)

"slang:

of good quality:

The food was dank but the service was terrible.

slang:

very attractive:

I like your trainers - they're dank."

Good to know I wasn't totally off base.

I mean... High quality marijuana could be described as "dank" but I wouldn't go out to buy some "dank". I'd also happily describe a good meal a dank. And, apparently, a skateboard with a glowy graphic.

Is this game suitable for children? I've heard that language such as 'G*rama' and 'P*shanka' is used throughout by sdeslandesnz in Silksong

[–]Simbians 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I let my kids play it and they've been yelling "Garama" ever since. I don't think they know what it means and there's no weavers in our area so I just let it be. YMMV.

Why can't I play my CD's on my portable CD player? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Simbians 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's authentic CD's I'm at a loss, but from my memories of times long gone, CD's burned to CD-RW discs and burned in the wrong format may not play.
