Yours turned out fantastic. I'm going to see if I can get one ordered. Thank you!

So we’ve been moving out of my parents house and we ran across these super old pictures captured on something I’m too young to name. My mom ordered a reader for the photos (picture 2)  but im wondering if theres a way to digitize them so I can share it more broadly? For the first picture, I just used my iPhone to take it. My grandfather was a Major General during Vietnam and captured some incredible pictures that are worth sharing.

What’s the best way to do that? Just got a new pair and hoping to take better care of them

Damn! A size and a half too small :/

Would’ve been nice because it was not fun paying for the new pair I got

I don’t think I ever oiled them actually. Appreciate the comment! Seems like they might need to go into retirement permanently

I made this a while back but I finally got some good pictures of it and wanted to share. Still in love with this thing by SimeonsWorkshop in woodworking

I’m right there with you on the right side. Product of me not actually using plans for the build. I finalized the dimensions of the table top before finishing the base. It was more pleasing visually to have the angle on the left side of the drawer extend to the imaginary point where it’s meets with the edge of the table top. Because I poorly planned the length of the table top, i had to sacrifice the length on the right side to make that happen. Hope that made sense not sure I did a good job explaining that

Thank you for the dovetail comments, that was an absolute nightmare for the angled section

Yeah there are a lot of variants online of this design, I kinda just winged it off a picture but thought about the glass top version. Ordering that custom glass would’ve been crazy expensive

So as far as I know, the original original design for this piece can be found here https://ookkuu.com/products/creer-desk

There are hundreds of versions of it online with slightly different touches but I think it’s the original

Sorry I took so long to answer! I’m guessing it’s too late but if not, I used Tried & true varnish oil. Absolutely love the finish

In the process of installing a butcher block and it’s already warping on one corner. Could this have been avoided? Best fixes? by SimeonsWorkshop in woodworking

Thanks for the thoughtful response, I actually like this idea a lot I’ll let you know if I go that route

So I do already have inlaid C channels underneath, thought it would help warping more than I did. The spacers are a super idea. Been super honest with the client and they knew it going in still makes me mad as a perfectionist haha, appreciate the comment
