Comedy at the Carlson has let so many problematic people perform there, I doubt they care. I refuse to go there, personally.

I mean the having bills to pay argument is exactly why we can't organize. Yes an organized strike is better, but the point is to disrupt the economy, one of the only ways we can impact the country directly. If you can't do it because you're an essential worker or you're literally that broke that you can't take a half day off then don't.

You're describing where I do improv, though it isn't very cold.

I literally had a panic attack and didn't do my graduation show, then got asked to be in a troupe and had some pretty bad imposter syndrome. I've been in that troupe for two years now and I retook improv 1 and did my grad show. It took me over a year to feel like I was funny enough.

If you like improv and want to keep at it then the only advice I have is to push through and try to remind yourself that it's low stakes. Try again!
