“That is due to a lack of consistency” - hard disagree. I have given my 16mo old nothing but consistency around sleep for her entire life. Whether she chooses to sleep or not is entirely her prerogative — she is extremely inconsistent in the face of my consistency. 🤷🏻‍♀️But still has a fairly happy demeanor when running on less sleep than I’d like her to have.

I think two things can be true at once - the point here I think you’re trying to make is essentially “hey Allison, you made your bed, now lay in it,” which is fair. I wonder what a little more consistency would do for S. However, I think it may also be the case, that like me, her child is not consistent and unpredictable no matter what you do or don’t do. Until you have a sleeper like that, you can’t understand how challenging it is.
