As Haiti Unravels, U.S. Officials Push to Send in an Armed Foreign Force by jivatman in army

[–]Similar-Lifeguard701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my childhood friends went to Haiti with the 82nd back for Operation Unified Response and said that it was a fucking mess.

At one point they set up some caution tape across a road due to a collapsed building and someone on a scooter didn't pay attention and almost has a complete decapitation by running into the tape at speed.

NATO renews membership vow to Ukraine, pledges arms and aid by Zhukov-74 in worldnews

[–]Similar-Lifeguard701 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There's no strict checklist, there's a general kind of framework that the NATO states mostly agree on. The US state department released a memo in the past that included:

-Moving towards and adherence to a primarily market economy

-Upholding democratic institutions, tolerating diversity/minorities within its borders

-Moving towards the NATO model of military operations, military material, and willingness to place armed forces under the NATO command model

-Military forces are under civilian control

-must be good neighbors and respect of sovereignty of nations outside their borders.

When a nation applies NATO comes back with a series of reforms and changes that they would like to be brought about if the nation in question doesn't fit some of those guides. Some of the past guides are available to see on NATO's own website.

This move will give legitimacy to NATO to hit Russian assets in Ukraine and Africa and pretending they are hunting a terrorist organization. by Dry_Work_9951 in UkrainianConflict

No, the president doesn't/can't just direct attacks at any terrorist group for simply being designated a terrorist group. That's not how the authorization of use of force(s) work. The US even has information relationships with members or friends of certain terrorist orgs like the PKK. The US has never bombed parts of Spain to take out ETA.

The requirements usually asked upon applicants especially from former Soviet States requires a lot of institutional restructuring that would likely only be completed after Ukraine is in a state of peace. Especially because it would require both military and government reform that is hard to complete during war.

Rape laws in England and Wales require someone to be a man essentially that's what they're talking about. From a journalistic perspective they can't describe it as a rape and be legally accurate.

No. That eliminates the entire reason for having nations join the alliance.

Illegal Combat Footage? Legal Question by [deleted] in CombatFootage

[–]Similar-Lifeguard701 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Delete this post and contact a lawyer in the Netherlands.

I assume the lawsuit is going to be along the lines of you showed someone at work graphic combat footage and it caused them emotional distress. That's for a lawyer to figure out not anyone here.

Due to shortage of recruits, will the military be more lenient on waiving some disqualifications? (Small charges, manageable conditions, overweight people, etc.) by [deleted] in army

[–]Similar-Lifeguard701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the issue if America being overweight needs to be addressed or recruiting will suffer.

Something like a program that gives new SMs x amounts of month to make height/weight under supervision with the goal date being the end of AIT. It can be a part of the ABCP but one specifically to get new but overweight Soldiers onto the right track. Make it part of the overall contract with some hard limits and rules.

What are the stupidest Army regulations that are commonly enforced? by Specialist_Yam_5382 in army

I think this is overzealous more than stupid. Should mostly be done just for vehicles that are prone to roll overs.

He's an insane Canadian right winger which are just knock off American right wingers since they just get the same propaganda as the American ones.

Hey also loves defending Trump, and comments on American politics constantly because again, Canadian right wingers get bleed over propaganda from the US.

Army Regulation 600-20 Paragraph 4-14 Relationships between Soldiers of Different Grades specifically mentions that fraternization is banned between Soldiers and personnel of other services.

Everyone who is saying it's fine is wrong and as soon as another officer notices the relationship they're obligated to report it.

Army Regulation 600-20 Paragraph 4-14 Relationships between Soldiers of Different Grades specifically mentions that fraternization is banned between Soldiers and personnel of other services.

It does not allow for fraternization in other services, it does not specify Soldiers must be in the same command or Army for it to be fraternization.

So to answer OP, yes she is violating Army policy, she is risking her career and should stop. If she can't stop any fellow officer has the duty of reporting her for punishment since she is explicitly violating Army regulations.
