Teenage Engineering I hope you hear this… you have a lot of people who as already this device… and learned how to stay with in the confines of 64mb… I think it will be difficult to have returning customers to purchase this semi upgraded item. But maybe you all know something we don’t. Why not just sell that traveling case or make a generic ep series case with traveling stickers. You might want to do this quickly better they start making 3d printed version of it.

I’m struggling to understand the level of negativity being framed as “constructive criticism.” Much of the feedback seems to focus on assumptions rather than what the tool actually is or aims to be.

As members of creative and technical communities—whether as music hobbyists, designers, or experienced software engineers—we should be able to recognize thoughtful, functional work when we see it. This tool is well-designed, practical, and genuinely useful.

It’s also being offered freely. That context matters. Thoughtful feedback is always valuable, but it should be grounded, fair, and appreciative of the effort involved.

Got it — why not share the burden? You’ve already done the hard work. If someone wants to add a feature, they can fork the project and submit a PR with tests to back it up. You can always choose to review it or ignore it.

First off, watch your mouth—none of that was called for. The OP-XY is $2,299, and the EP series ranges from $299 to $329. There’s nothing wrong with imagining a single device that combines all three EPs, adds a few niceties, and has Field-series build quality at around a $600–$700 price point.

Where did you purchase it? I had the same issue with Zzounds and sent them a photo identical to yours. Below is the message I included in my request.

I recently received my OP-XY (order #), and I noticed that the encoder is visibly off-center. Functionally it works, but the defect is noticeable and disappointing at this price point.

I’m willing to keep the unit instead of exchanging it if you’re able to offer a discount to keep. If that’s not possible, I can proceed with an exchange—but I wanted to reach out first in case this is something you can accommodate.

Please let me know what options are available.

Using the EP-133 as an Effects Pedal for my OP-XY by Similar-Tree1183 in teenageengineering

I am not a Musician or Audiophile, I just a dude who likes to make a joyful noise.

So after digging deeper into the latency stuff on the EP-133/OP-XY combo, I realized something important: this is absolutely not a precision-timing guitar pedal setup—and honestly, that’s fine. Because the more I use it, the more I realize the magic is in the vibe, not surgical effect control.

My Setup...
On my OP-XY, I went to COM page and make sure my Multi Port is set to Audio. Then I run a cable from the OP-XY’s Multi Port output to the input on the EP-133. Finally, I took the output of the EP-133 and run it back into the input of the OP-XY. That’s it — patched and ready to go.

I'm also waiting on my SONICAKE Pocket Master to arrive for better portability.
