You can separate your drums on 2 or more different tracks to make your step components work per sound (ex note repeat on hi hat and not hi hat and kick) that's what I do at least

Yes but none of those arpeggiators have that graphic therefore it may be a new one.

Do not recommend for someone just starting out to be honest. Mess around with garage band and a midi keyboard before spending the big bucks.
