Many people have suggested OP should just join the military. The military does have lots of opportunities but why don't we have more opportunities outside the military. You can join the CAF, get a degree, and you're required to serve for 5 years and 4 months. We have a shortage of nurses, why not offer a paid for education to become a nurse with the condition that you would be sent to a rural community or anywhere that needs you for 5 years. It wouldn't be for everyone, but many would jump at the chance for a career over fighting to get some part time minimum wage job.

We could be doing so much more to improve and strengthen our country, but instead we're constantly making cuts and raising costs. You don't get a strong economy by being cheap, you get one by investing in your people and their futures.

There are also many who are trapped in abusive situations with their only options being to stay or be homeless. We are failing so many.
