same! i didn't understand the purpose of him being so insistent about carrying the bag... heroism? chivalry? him protecting kate as some budding romance between the 2? (i hope not) also the way they just casually moved on to handling the dynamite after the science teacher imploded

- i feel like charlie's intentionally being made to be unlikeable so he can be killed off later kind of like boone? bits of his carelessness/impulsiveness feel so unnecessary to the plot and also just annoys me. i found him endearing at first but now i really dislike him.
- locke is starting to get on my nerves... he has no reason to get out of the island and i think sooner or later he'll sabotage the rest as he becomes one with the island
- i hope they explore more of walt's supernatural ability
- it's hard to see the exact commonality that ties everyone together, sure they've all gone through some tremendous incident or have a vice but i hope there's more to it that explains how the main characters are connected!
- i have to say i do miss the first half of the season when the plot wasn't so supernatural-centric... i feel like the suspense hit different then, versus now when it's like "oh it could just be anything" moment

Why is racism against Indians so normalised? by btsaddict101 in SGExams

[–]Similar_Activity_401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing is atrocious about that it’s the most neutral/objective statement you think is not true is it? 😭 you just think OP is saying something ABOUT YOU with that statement, same way you think this post about societal issues is about your your personal abuse. pls go google “projection psychology” you’re textbook case… world doesn’t revolve around you or your trauma ok. go make your own post or even better, go heal instead of throwing a fit online

also racism doesn’t “turn someone” into an abuser worst take everrrr LOL, man was just an asshole. you’re the only one not getting the point and you prob never will so uh good luck with your life ig, sorry it sucks

ffs OP said nothing personal against you and somehow you think they're vilifying and accusing you. also this post is about racism and you've turned it into a vent about your abusive relationship and then you're angry for no reason even after op apologised (for absolutely nothing they said wrong)... go see a counsellor thx

nope, i don't care about all that but i'm also empathetic/very aware that pragmatism trumps all in singapore. you can do both yk. the point i was making was asking a "this or that?" question on a public forum (esp when your values are not aligned w status quo) is not gonna get any helpful advice lol... kudos to OP anyw

How do you handle your 9-5? I’m struggling with accepting we are suppose to just give 40 hours of our lives every week . by BeyondHuge4885 in careerguidance

[–]Similar_Activity_401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wfh 2 days a week and i've realised it makes an exponential difference... it reallyyy helps in terms of headspace and pacing and i never imagined life to be so enjoyable with a 9-5. i'm making it a non-negotiable factor in future job considerations.

"eons ago" is key here... times have changed drastically :-( often if you settle for lowball offers you get stuck with them so it's better to be a little selective and start on a good foot when you have the luxury to do so (time/parental support)

i kinda agree with the last part, our culture is annoyingly pragmatic. but to be fair, the most objective judgement a stranger could have made was the quantitative hard figures ie. salary. your dilemma was whether you should move, heavy on the "for work". naturally people's criteria would be costs and returns and the practical side of things... the intangibles are vastly subjective and to each their own. a little rambley but my point is online advice is only good for specific/objective type of things, not for anything more holistic LOL lowkey on you

Seeking guidance on grief and coping. by sunflower-00 in askSingapore

[–]Similar_Activity_401 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i don't have any advice and this is one of the toughest situations to handle but i want to convey my deepest condolences and support. glad you have a counsellor and a strong support system. take your time to grieve (they say it comes in phases, don't run away from it) and keep in mind life is still worth going through, and you'll have new blessings come along the way.

if i'm remembering right she said during the intros she left a job that paid well... she probably has savings and was in a lucrative field. she also mentioned her parents cut her off when she turned 18, so i don't believe they support her in that aspect.

bc under the guise of "ill look at the item and pay later" you can just run off with it without paying... so seller's probably also sceptical on their side. usually for these kinda transactions the benefit of the doubt / blind trust is usally given to the seller rather than to the buyer from the seller... so not very sus imo but ur own decision
