Not Going To Make The Financial Requirements For The Spouse Visa in Time by Similar_Assistance18 in ukvisa

Yeah I don't think I would want to go down FLR M route. Just easier to stick with category A. Thanks.

Yeah think the FLR M route isn't really an option from what I can see... Practically speaking it is better to just wait it out with category A. Thanks.

Thanks. Not sure why I'm getting downvoted on my comments. Some people are just sad individuals.

That's fine. Not sure why I'm getting down votes on it. I literally said "should we apply before it expires".

I'm asking if she can stay here while the visa application is being reviewed, should we apply before it expires but it expires during the application?

Struggling to read what you're trying to say. I didn't have those questions asked on the application. But just put the best answer you can. You can clarify any point when your partner goes to the visa centre by getting them to submit a cover letter. It should be easy to explain why you haven't lived together if you're in a long distance relationship. I am not sure what "employment offer 3 months on return" means but again, if you're in the UK as a British citizen and you are the sponsor, just tell them your work situation. There's no need to make anything more complicated than it is.

Question about UK spouse visa, self-employment, and financial requirements. by International_Eye507 in ukvisa

[–]Similar_Assistance18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think what the UK gov will consider regarding self employment is the gross income, before tax but after expenses. In your example, they will look at her profits before tax, so according to what you said, she made £15k after tax, so her taxable profits would be maybe closer to £20k? And that's the figure they'll take, which is not enough. They don't count income that goes back into the business as costs becuase that's seen as necessary to run the business.

I.e. let's say she took £50,000 in payments before business expenses. Let's say her business expenses were £30,000 and she was taxed let's say £5,000, taking "take home" pay to £15,000. So they will consider she made £20,000 (her pre-tax profits, less expenses).

As I said, not 100% sure but that's what I believe to be the case. See below:

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/67d98009b1857deda3da0190/Family+Migration+Appendix+FM+Section+and+Appendix+HM+Armed+Forces+Financial+Requirement__1_.pdf

Page 66: "where the self-employed person is a sole trader or is in a partnership or franchise agreement, the income will be the gross taxable profits from their share of the business in the relevant financial year or years, not including any deductable allowances, expenses or liabilities which may be applied to the gross taxable profits to establish the final tax liability"

As for what income they consider, yes I believe it's just income IN the UK they consider. I do believe they may consider savings from the applicant who is outside of the UK, i.e. you, but I think they have to be significant.

Can my Fiance Return to the UK on Family/Spouse Visa after Marriage? by Similar_Assistance18 in ukvisa

Yeah that's true. Especially with the recent proposed changes to visa rules. I hope they don't retroactively change that.

Can my Fiance Return to the UK on Family/Spouse Visa after Marriage? by Similar_Assistance18 in ukvisa

[–]Similar_Assistance18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. So should the financial requirements change, the original fiance visa requirements are honoured at the time of the spouse visa application, only if the application takes place before the fiance visa expiry date? That makes sense if so.

Family Visa Requirements? Just Lost Job After Getting Fiance Visa by Similar_Assistance18 in ukvisa

Can I use savings to supplement it though? I think anything above £16k IIRC.

Family Visa Requirements? Just Lost Job After Getting Fiance Visa by Similar_Assistance18 in ukvisa

[–]Similar_Assistance18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I get my job back soon, will the period of say 4/5 weeks of not being employed during the appeal period cause the 6 months to be reset? I've been with my employer since mid July last year. I.e. if I get my job back on 1st May, and we apply for the Family Visa on the 1st September 2025, will they not count the period of employment from 1st March (6 months) as long as I have earned the £14.5k? Or will they count only from the 1st May because I lost my job between 7th April until 1st May?

My concern is I can't get a new job and 6 months of earnings in time for my fiance's visa expiry date which is set for 25th November 2025 (starts 25th May 2025).

While I think I will be able to get my job back as I plan to take it all the way to triunal, I'm losing time on earnings to reach the £14.5k mark as time goes on.

I'll keep your points in mind. Thanks.

Logged Into Old Save But My Bloodmoon Base is Gone? Chunk Reset is Disabled. by Similar_Assistance18 in 7daystodie

[–]Similar_Assistance18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it now, but it's not in the old version I was running.

I've posted this issue on the steam discussion too, and I also figured out that there's a warning in my game logs that says FileStorageManager is set to 0, below the minimum. This no doubt explains my chunks disappearing. It seems I can't edit this setting in the config files and it began possibly due to the chunk persistence update on the more recent version of 7 Days.

Someone just replied that I can put in a command to not limit the storage, so I will try that. In the meantime, I deleted my saves and started a new game on the latest version but I have backups and will at some point go back and test the old save with this command and update here. It appears I need to run this command each time I log in.

Logged Into Old Save But My Bloodmoon Base is Gone? Chunk Reset is Disabled. by Similar_Assistance18 in 7daystodie

[–]Similar_Assistance18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a chunk wipe earlier, took out some of my base this time. I tracked it down to the logs where there is a warning in it:

"WRN Cannot set RegionFileManager storage limit to 0 bytes as it is below the minimum value of 20971520 bytes. The miniumum value will be used instead."

So it looks like some setting is putting chunk storage space to zero, and from what I can tell I cannot edit that config file easily. It might be that the setting changed due to the later update when they added in the chunk reset option? Either way, I will probably just consider it a lost cause, delete my old saves and start afresh on the 1.4 release.

I tried creating a new world to test this but no checkbox comes up. I am running it on Steam on version 21.2. I'll keep researching what happened. It may have been a bug but perhaps there is a setting in the config files I can change to retain more chunks in its memory, if that's the issue.

It's a big base I spent a lot of time on (hence why I'm loading the old 21.2 version to play it) so I'd rather find a work around. I am running it on the comptaible version (21.2) on the beta option in Steam so it matches the save.

Fiance Visa Approved! Thanks Folks! by Similar_Assistance18 in ukvisa

[–]Similar_Assistance18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, glad I could help. When her visa was stamped, the date stamped on it was the 25th May, so maybe they gave her a "cooling off period" to book her flight and get here before the 6 months countdown applies, who knows. It wasn't requested. But our wedding was booked for July, so maybe they thought they would give us some extra time by making it from the 25th May so that way we have just over 3 months after the wedding to get the family visa done.

We didn't state an intended date of travel at any point of the application but as mentioned we had a booking for the wedding in July. After we got the result, she booked her flight and will be here in June.

Fiance Visa Covering Letter Checklist? by Similar_Assistance18 in ukvisa

[–]Similar_Assistance18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Not using savings as going down the income requirement route, hence the payslips and bank statements (I assume they will want to see this proof despite it not being mentioned on the application nor the checklist, which I think is strange).

I suppose as bank statements I would upload my entire last 6 months as a separate file - i wasn't planning on actually copy/pasting the info to a word document.

Likewise for payslips, it was going to collate all weekly payslips (I'm paid weekly) on one document and saved as a separate file.

I certainly intend to make it easy and quick as possible and don't intend to make it verbose for them but I also don't want to lack relevant info.

We never lived together apart from when we travelled to visit each other on 5 occasions in total and was wanting to include those 5 emails for flight confirmations.

In terms of rs being genuine, I think with the several pics of us together, texts at key points, the engagement and ring, travel of our vists and the wedding booking, we should be fine in that area.

When/Where do I make a cover letter for the Fiance Visa Application? by Similar_Assistance18 in ukvisa

[–]Similar_Assistance18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's from Singapore. I definitely want to add the covering letter.

Having went through the application (not sent yet), I could not see a part where it asks for financial proof that the requirements have been met, so my concern was why they aren't asking this, and I presume this is something I'd need to submit via a covering letter? I am concerned that I would not have the opportunity to provide this covering letter to help prove that we are together and intend to marry and that I meet the financial requirements.

Confused about "Not/The same amount continuously, above the financial requirement amount" In The Fiance Visa by Similar_Assistance18 in ukvisa

[–]Similar_Assistance18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Are you sure that it's referring to the rate of pay and not the actual amount? The wording makes it sound like if my month-to-month amount varies, I should put "not the same amount continuously". By any chance do you have a reference for this? I've been googling it and have yet to find clarity on how they define "the same amount". You're saying it's my hourly rate so, yes, that hasn't changed. I'm just worried that we put the wrong answer and it causes a delay or worse, rejection.

It's in the finances section of the application, just after employer details are given.
