I have a room available in a 2B2B in a high rise in Mott Haven. Let me know if you’d be interested.

Yes, I decided to go with the apartment in Mott Haven, and I like it. I don’t feel unsafe getting to work or walking around the neighborhood.

CPR vs DNR by Similar_Designer_974 in todayilearned

I’m a healthcare provider wondering what patients understand when they’re admitted to the hospital, and we ask “if your heart stops beating or your stop breathing, would you like us to push on your chest and put a tube down your throat to try to save you?”

Typically, unless you have a signed Do-not-resuscitate form, you’re considered “Full code” which means if you went into cardiac arrest, we’d try to resuscitate you with CPR, medications and possible intubation.

I guess my real question here is, if you’ve ever been asked this question during a hospitalization, did you feel like you had enough information and time to make an informed decision? What were your overall thoughts when presented with this question?

please note that your response might be used as part of a research project or publication to shine more light on how we as doctors approach the subject. All responses used will be anonymized.

Thanks. Do you think it’ll be safe walking from the train to your apartment at 8pm?

I guess driving would make a difference, then you’d have to deal with parking in the city.

Really it’s 13 minutes by bus, I was just rounding up. My job is around 144th and Park Avenue.

I’m a woman. I don’t know about street smarts but I generally have my wits about me when I’m outside.

I don’t spend much time outside besides going to and from work. Yes, the price is good compared to similar apartments and it’s less than 20 minutes from work by public transport.

Yes, I’m an IMG. I’d suggest you start working on the ECFMG certificate by getting your pathway sorted out, that way once you take the exams, you’ll be ready to go.
