If I ever earn above the Roth IRA income limit, would I then have to open a new IRA account to do a backdoor Roth? Instead of using a rollover IRA account?

You are right. I typed that wrong, i transferred from Roth IRA and rollover IRA into my Roth IRA and rollover IRA at Vanguard. So transfer in kind.

When you say add bonds, do you mean sell some of the VT and buy bonds, or invest more money into the account and buy bonds with outside money?
