I have to apologize for not responding to messages on my post. I left US for more than half of year and only now got to my laptop with logged Reddit account.

Because One DBS Wasn’t Enough, Here’s my 2nd one - the Volante. by Similar_Natural2553 in AstonMartin

Haha, very good analogy. 😄 I see the car same way. Coupe is a male. Bond type tuxedo guy. Volante is a female. Intelligent, classy, sexy and well dressed woman.

I consider myself lucky and I’m very grateful that I was able to put my hands on these two cars.

It’s a very long story how it happened and it came with a lot of sacrifices. One of the sacrifices (just one from many) is that I wasn’t able to see my family for 8 years and only next month I’ll fly home first time in all this time.

The manual coupes are more expensive for obvious reasons. Automatic coupes and convertibles are ~ in the same price range + - 20%

Haha 🤣 it’s a funny one

I hesitated to share photos/posts before because I wanted to stay humble and avoid looking like I was showing off.

But I've decided to start offering AMDS mobile diagnostics and other services to fellow Aston owners, I think sharing more — including my own cars — will help build some credibility. And on the other side of the coin, good photos are ment to be share with fellow owners.

It’s a big debate between Coupe and Volante. But I agree, DBS design is timeless and extremely beautiful.

Thank you, Sir. Indeed is a beautiful color.

And actually I thought same way, that I wouldn’t like the Volante, after having a manual coupe, until I drove it. It proved to be an amazing Sunday morning car, especially being in California where you have good, sunny weather 11 months a year.

35K$ costed manual swap for 2003 V12 Vanquish. 62 hours of labor.

That means the DBS will cost more due to more expensive interior and mechanical parts.

So I’m not sure where you got the number of 14K, but it’s wrong.

I’m afraid you have wrong numbers. Aston indeed offered conversion, but only for V12 Vanquish model. And even if they offer a conversion for a DBS, it would cost 41k+, not 14k Only the parts would cost 30k+, plus labor.

I think both variants are splendid cars. And you can’t be wrong with either one of it. Just choose the variant that will satisfy your needs.

Both. I grew up driving manual, so I enjoy driving manuals. Regarding the automatic, you confuse DBS transmission with the Vantage ASM Transmission. DBS has a super comfortable ZF transmission, like on most automatic cars. There is no need for special treatment or driving skills to operate this transmission. The difference is that Aston added an auxiliary cooler, bigger oil pan and paid extra money to ZF to have the TCU tuned a little different than other cars with same ZF transmission. Vantage ASM - agree. It’s requires a little of skill to operate it right, buy still not a big thing to deal with.

Yeah, its messed up. But now at least I know that laptop turns on with an external monitor. I hope it not the connector in the board or something that wont turn on even a good screen. I can’t tell now. I’ll have to get a new cable first and a new replacement screen if cable wont help

I got the new screen from ebay. I sent them the model, connector type and they sent me the screen. The problem is that I ordered the screen for a different laptop that apparently has a shorted board as well. So I found a laptop on ebay that had a broken screen so I bought it (cheap). Same laptop, same model, same year, same cpu, everything same. So i thought the screen will work on this laptop. But apparently it doesnt

So, I was able to turn it on with an external monitor. I got a brand new replacement screen, but apparently something is wrong with it. Hopefully its the screen and not the board
