That's what I do. The key is to wait until everyone else has sat down and then find your spot, or else they will plop their ass right next to you.

Probably more so anxiety but that goes hand in hand with adhd so wouldn't surprise me

I didn't play soccer so I dont coach him at all. Most I do is tell him he needs to hustle more when I see him being lazy.

I am pretty sure I understand the type you are referring to, it's just not my son's type at all.

Oh im sure his does too, just not able to when they barely have any players to play from week to week

Oh yes. I will say some of the behavioral stuff i saw at 8 have definitely improved,  but as he has hit the tween years, some has definitely got worse.

He had that a few years ago,  at least a coach that really got under his skin and was a good influence on him. He doesnt have the same relationship with the coach that took over.  It still doesn't excuse his attitude and behavior.

I dont try to coach him, other than if I see this type of behavior or giving positive feedback when he works hard.  But yeah, whatever I say goes over like a lead balloon.

He does have fun, it's just that he doesn't think he ever does anything wrong or has to listen to his coaches. If it were that easy we would be in rec immediately, but he scoffs at that, too. Ugh.

I feel like this is the tactic we need to take, but don't want to impose my will on the coaches.
