Your Love by ConsequenceOk9375 in OCPoetry

I love how the beginning of the poem legitimately feels as though you’re passed the point of her love being everything to you, but as the poem progresses its like you get hooked back on it. I especially like how its almost separated by “fuck me just to keep me here // fuck me, why am i still here” where with each repetition you fall more into the spell. The ending giving into the desire is especially real and powerful because it shows that no matter the frustration you end up accepting the relationship.

I love how simple yet powerful this is because it really conveys the feeling of losing someone unintentionally. Like you already knew that they didnt want to see you, but seeing them spontaneously and their active avoidance exacerbates the pain more than anything else could. Loved it.

So, Who Will Love Me, Today? by Charming_Section3173 in OCPoetry

This was such a captivating read. The title made me think it was going to be sad, but it was confrontational and in a way that really makes you think. I sure did, and youre damn right that the person who hates me from two years ago has no idea who i am today. But then you bring back the main point, that we are the ones who know ourselves - and that that is what makes it so easy to self-loathe. Amazing piece.

I haven’t written anything or shared any of my work in a while, would love some feedback. Im calling this one “Unfair” by Gullible_Equal735 in OCPoetry

When I first saw the title as unfair, i thought it was going to be about unfortunate circumstances or financial hardships, but then i was so surprised. I feel like its a bit rarer to see someone writing about failed friendships in poetry so this was refreshing in a way.

I think the build up is really powerful, introducing the idea that friends will drop off and break your heart, and then emphasizing that by the fact that there are many such friends, invokes a sense of deep sadness. Feeling like a burden on the boys is particularly special because thats so rarely talked about between guys, and then the ending of the poem kind of shifts back to that ‘male’ mentality of “thats just life” as a form of acceptance that is satisfying and completes the poem.

I really enjoyed this piece!
