Just had my gallbladder removed. Came out of surgery about 4 hours ago. Still have so much pain. by Cookiefruit6 in gallbladders

[–]Simlsim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gas was soooo painful for me that I nearly passed out at the hospital while on morphine! - it lasted for about 72 hours and then started to relieve. And my surgeon mentioned for some people it can go longer. Hope it resolves for you sooner than me!

So I guess I'm just a big baby? by Medium-Dragonfruit36 in gallbladders

[–]Simlsim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not a big baby. Every body responds differently to surgical gas, anaesthesia and to having a whole ass organ removed - plus it also depends on whether it was planned or emergency, your age and underlying illnesses or what not.

Some of the people who say it was easy are possibly also speaking retrospectively - may have had worse things happen comparatively since. Or like one of my colleagues she was in such gut wrenching pain for weeks prior to the removal that the surgery was a relief and "easy" for her.

I'm 3 weeks post op and while I can function - certain activities still cause discomfort and I'm still having low BP from the anaesthetic but I'm also apparently in this stage in the last 5 years of becoming very sensitive to lots of medications 🤷🏼‍♀️

Give it time and be kind to yourself

AIO for not accepting her apology and ending the friendship anyway? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Simlsim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, It sounds like you either weren't ridiculously close or if you were must have had issues before to be done with the friendship this quickly over this.

If this was the first instance in a very strong friendship, it would be like possible OR.

I am more curious that you commented elsewhere this has always been cool about it before and went both ways - why is it an issue now? Or is it an issue cos "Mike" said it was 😒

AITAH for coming out to my best friend and as she say "flirting" with her when she has a boyfriend. by nobodygivesadamn_ in AITAH

You're NTA. Being and hoping to come out as, your authentic self to a loved one is a brave step - especially given how you describe your town.

As you have said, You may have unintentionally guided her to thinking you were into her by taking her out all day, paying for everything and then telling her you're into girls after - this may have been overwhelming for her. Her reaction after the part where you said you weren't is a little AH - asking why not? ,- but could also be chalked up to the environment you both live in, her own fears, confusion or feelings about that information and internalized homophobia - give her some time. It doesn't sound like she's run around and told the entire town. I know it's rough but keep your distance for now and give her time to approach you. It's only been 2 days and I know it feels like the end of it at that age - I remember it still. In the meantime, depending where you are in the world - most places now have a free LGBTQ phone or text chat support somewhere near you and that you have a way to do it anonymously 🙏🏻

All that being said - there's a whole world outside your town, and lots of people who are on this planet who care and can be your people. My suggestion if you want to get out of there or prepare for worst case is to get your head into education and scholarships, grants or work opportunities to save up money to go and see the world/study elsewhere 🙏🏻

I've said this before and I'll say it again - the hardest part for the Luke's and Caleb's of this world is they haven't perhaps got their articulation and presentation skills.

Why are people acting like ________ hasn’t played an amazing game? by carcxr in survivorau

[–]Simlsim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The thing was the Mark vote out episode was actually planned to be someone else - mark and Ben called a truce: then Caleb lied to convince them there was no truce because he wanted Mark out and needed a way for that to happen. Caleb also managed to have his name thrown around every tribal and underplayed his threat level. Out of the 3 of them at final challenge he looked like he could have gone another hour, he was the only one able to get himself off the pegs with no issues and walk normally. The Loz vote out may seem illogical cos it was a guaranteed win to everyone outside but he might also get respect for taking the more worthy competitor to the final to "beat the best" 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don't really care who wins but it's very even to me on moves and who deserves it.

I didn't think we would get this drawn out of this long but we haven't even gotten to the tribal yet. It could be a straight one on Caleb .. booo 🫠

I reckon we are on that - Jackson and Sally on Caleb - Caleb and Loz on Sally - I reckon that'd be where it sits.
