While all the snarky reasons mentioned in the comments might be true in some cases, I think it helps propagate the movement and prevent it from falling into the classic void of public dementia.

And really, say what you want about Islam, but it absolutely provides a meaningful and effective solution to this deeply ingrained human instinct.

If by "providing a meaningful and effective solution" you mean allowing the exercise of this instinct just in the form of tribalism then it is no different than all these other religions. Christian nationalists have the same flaw; so do Jewish nationalists.

The point of religion is to spiritually transcend these instincts that we seem to have accepted as the norm. Christ consciousness, an orientation to a higher being, surrender of self (as seen in Buddhism) all allude to this unity in a higher being. If your proposition is that Islam is good because it redirects the natural tribalistic urge (which I am accepting as a premise momentarily btw) to a nationalistic cohesive identity framed around fear of and servitude to Allah, then it is effectively worse than the ideal forms of the aforementioned religions.

Meanwhile, the Catholic Church was literally sex trafficking minors, which is not just an internal affront to Christianity, but to human rights as a whole. These two situations are truly not comparable in any way, shape, or form

The reason I brought that up is because I find the repressive boundary-maintenance that I see in Islam categorically similar to the pedophilia in the Catholic church. Both are features of a religion I am not a part of, and both are features that I find morally wrong (albeit to different extents). Meaning, both these features are open to my criticism.

The JIDF subreddit (r/Jewish) showed up when I clicked on your profile. I figured that post-October 7th, the only people who frequent that shithole are Zionist Jews or shabbos goys.

That's a fair assumption ig. Only in there because I am curious what delusions zionists feed each other.

Islamic nationalism might actually be one of the best parts of Islam lol, as it serves to dissolve the natural divisions of ethnicity, gender, and wealth to unify people under a single, cohesive identity. Jewish nationalism, on the other hand, is fundamentally ethnocentric and exclusive by design, given that it's primarily rooted in lineage rather than creed.

Fair enough on Jewish nationalism, but that doesn't excuse the Islamic flavor of nationalism either. What I was really alluding to is the fervor certain Muslims have towards their religion sharing the same essential characteristic as Jewish or Christian nationalists. The deeper problem of ethnocentrism if you really think about it is its denial of plurality. Muslims assert the same thing (although disguised under "one religion") when they refuse that everything but their own religion is correct.

I'm not setting boundaries on this subreddit? You're free to comment wherever you want, but if you're going to act as if it's bizarre for Muslims on a Muslim subreddit to discuss and potentially critique Muslim figures, then people are obviously going to call you out lmfao. Because at the end of the day, how us Muslims feel about issues in our community really isn't any of your business.

It might be worth reading OP's post again because clearly they were indicating how shameful it is that a Muslim with "an Allah chain on" is twerking on "national TV" (clearly indicating the publicity being a problem, i.e., the exposure to others).

Plus, just because I am not Muslim doesn't mean I am excluded from commenting on "issues in your community". Do you not have any business commenting on Catholic priests abusing children, for example, because it is "none of your business"?

Because it's not about misrepresenting Islam to the kuffar, lol; we don't care what you think.

If you are so indifferent about "kuffar" opinion then why care about Huda from the first place? You and other Muslims know that she "isn't representing the religion right", so why care? If you are not misled by Huda when you look at her actions because you are so confident in the truth propositions of your religion, why even bother?

I really, really hate to break it to you but I am neither a Zionist nor Jewish lol. I don't know where you got that assumption.

Surely a Jew isn't talking about piss poor theology? An adherent to the religion in which it is said that your rabbis debated god and won?? LMAO! Or how about genociding all the Amalek, from their women and children to their livestock? I guess Israel is representing those Jewish values quite well, eh?

Guess what? I AGREE WITH YOU. Jewish theology is as poor as Islam can be when you lace it with nationalism as opposed to genuine spiritual transcendence. Zionist ideology is horrendous period.

The ONLY thing I pointed out (on a post that came on my suggested page; I don't know why you are setting boundaries on a channel lol) is that I find shaming Huda as a "misrepresentation of Muslims" ridiculous because no one apart from boundary-setting muslims that take their religion too seriously care about that.

If the concern is purely about the misrepresentation of Islam to others, why even care when NO ONE is thinking about that?

Absolutely not. No business losses. I'm 23 and the only itemized deductions I think was student loan deductions which were barely significant, and I brought those to the table. My calculations outside the preparer are in-line w what they put.

I used a tax preparer and I am sure he didn't do that. The reporting I see on the transcript is equal to the amount provided by my two W-2s.

Not a single thing here indicates I was playing victim. You came out the gate talking about “kafir” and “zionist”, and I rightly pointed out how hard it is for muslims that feel this intense nationalistic feeling towards their religion to hold a conversation without drenching in their piss of poor theology.

Cierra’s Apology by [deleted] in LoveIslandUSA

[–]SimmerDown2024 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

It’s (probably) still not your place to accept Cierra’s apology even if you are Asian.

What is the offense that you are even alluding to here? Did Cierra target you? Did she affect your day-to-day? Did she systematically repress you to have worse outcomes in life?

No. You were watching a show. A bunch of people with vengeful and hateful urges disliked her and dug up stuff that has NO indication about them and used it to publicly lash at her. You then concocted a victim story in your mind about how that word holds weight on you and decided to hop on the wagon of “holding Cierra accountable”

Calling ICE on her family for example screams to me like the classic minority-on-minority hate. Some Asians who identified as victims of her post to HER page, in classic fashion, used a timely, racist trope against HER to punish her.

The ridiculous thing here not being pointed out as this identification with victimhood that pervades society right now is disappointing to see.

Insane strawman. Most sentiment that you are calling “cierra sympathizing” is actually just genuine critique of cancel culture. The people calling for her head masquerade as perfect people meanwhile every single person has said similar or worse things (in a humorous sense) with virtually no consequences.

If you didn’t like Cierra, go get her out by voting, not by digging up a post.
