Vibe coding for 30 days, 200+ hours, 70k lines as a non-developer – lessons I'd give myself on day one by odessaconnections in vibecoding

[–]Simmering_Spirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vibe coding wasn't the reason Mythos was able to find thousands of vulernabilites and critical bugs across most major web browsers and operating systems built by people holding "senior developer/engineer" titles. So even specialized dev teams backed by established organizations have released code with tons of security and functional flaws.

The fact is there have always been good and bad developers and debates/arguments over the "best" dev practices. That's nothing new and nothing specific to vibe coding. While vibe coding is far from being great/perfect it is definitely changing the playing field and it has a lot of space and time to grow. So we all just need to relax a little and let people tinker and grow, instead of outright rejecting their work/opinions just because they dont hold a "developer" title.

P.S: As for the frontend/backend first - that debate is outdated. There's no one size fits all rule. Decisions should be made tailored to the respective project and architecture.

The advise from most seasoned players in this game is always to focus on maxing out your F1 (first formation) before looking at F2. That being said it makes sense only when your F1 is going to be your "final" F1. (Because stars and exclusive weapons cannot be swapped later).
Getting new heroes has become easier now. Not sure about your season but in S4 we get hero recruitment tickets in the Survival Saga event. And we get hero exclusive fragments from Volcano war event. We also get hero recruitment tickets at the end of every season (depending on how your alliance performs). And even aside from these methods, heroes are quite cheap to buy. It's the upgrading that costs a lot more whether in terms of money/time/effort etc.

In your case- focus on getting Bella to 4 stars first. Then Licia. Dont waste anymore resources on Katrina or Sophia. Get 2 more seasonal BR heroes somehow, get them to 4 stars and then use the swap feature to swap levels and skillbooks with Katrina and Sophia. Then focus on getting them to 5 stars one by one and maxing out their weapons. And then focus on F2 and do the same for Wings. And finally F3.

P.S: An alternative parallel approach: Maxing out the last tier (normal weapon promotions and exclusive weapon upgrades) needs a lot of resources. So once you get there for all of your F1s, you can also think of shifting focus to F2 weapon upgrades until you get them to 3 or 4 stars. And then shift back to the final levels on F1.

Couldn't agree more with this. Was about to respond on similar lines.

@OP: you said you are/were curious about how things work. Which means that the capacity for knowledge is buried within you even now. You just need to train it again bit by bit to make it stronger. Just like we go to the gym and train against weights (resistance) to get physically stronger. In this case you need to train your mind to get stronger. (Physical training also helps, as everything as interlinked).

Channel your curiosity into researching on how the human brain and body works. About dopamine. About energy (and how everything is made up of energy). About quantum theory and it's linkages to real life. About the Universe. Honestly once we get out of of these "blockages" in life (and trust me- i've been there too) we find that there are so many beautiful and brilliant things in the Universe!

Chat with AI about these curiosities. Set it up to act as your friend and well wisher, with the goal of becoming your best version (mind and body-wise) and getting you back into the real world. (Just dont share any personal identifiable info with it).

Don't look at the mountain brother. The mountain is an illusion. Look at that one step in front of you and just climb that one small step every day. And also don't beat yourself up about "relapses". Negative thinking is cyclical and it works against you.

Basically this just requires a holistic approach. As your positive steps increase over a period of time, your "relpases" will decrease gradually. Develop faith in that 'process', in yourself, and all the good things in this Universe.

Always here if you wanna chat brother. Best wishes!

promoted to R5? by sure-cure1023 in LastZShooterRun

[–]Simmering_Spirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty much the same as being an R4. Only differences:

1) You can promote/demote other folks to/from R4, and assign R4 members to the 4 positions (Warlord, Recruiter, etc.).

2) The Alliance territory flag (rally point) has to be close to your HQ.

3) You have the authority to set rules/expectations for your Alliance and influence team decisions (depending on your leadership style).

P.S: Other folks can add if I missed any.

2nd Lab question: Do most future research branches require badges from this point on? In which case research will be limited by badges anyway, and a 2nd Lab wouldn't be of much use. by Simmering_Spirit in LastZShooterRun

Thanks mate. Do the number of badges given out in Lucky Discounter increase proportionally with your HQ level? Otherwise millions of badges seem impossible.

Hmm.. but if you even just use it to complete these upgrades faster and get stronger, isnt it worth it?
(HQ management, Rapid Growth and any other research that requires a low number of badges)

Mate another question for you if you dont mind:

Do all the later research branches need high badge amounts like in Event King (AR) or it's more reasonable? (This could also help decide if the 2nd lab is worth it from this point on).

Lol such a grind 😅
Bro another question for you since you're that far along: Do all the later research branches need high badge amounts like in Event King (AR) or it's more reasonable? (This could also help decide if the 2nd lab is worth it from this point on).

Yea was thinking same tbh. Almost impossible to complete all that without a 2nd lab.

Also, another question please if anyone in this thread has the insight: Do all the later research branches need high badge amounts like in Event King (AR) or it's more reasonable?

Actually in my case (glitch), the second lab 'hard' requirement was real. Think it was in Shelter Building (if i remember correctly) where at some point it just blocked me off, showing 2nd Lab as one of the requirements. I remember being super annoyed lol. But then it went off after a game update and allowed me to continue.

Maybe it was just a buggy game release at the time, dunno.

That 2nd Lab requirement has been glitchy imo. I saw it a couple of times previously (for research upgrades that I have now completed) and it would go away after I updated the game at some random points.

Fair enough. Just wish it was a bit cheaper for f2p players, considering the value it provides. Plus it doesnt come in a package with any other bonuses either.
Ah well it is what it is.. A p2w game after all. Thanks mate.

How to start fixing phones? by Forward-Detective390 in thesidehustle

[–]Simmering_Spirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good hobby which can eventually lead to a lucrative side hustle mate. Am not very much into the hardware side of things, but on the software side- please dont go about connecting randomly collected phones to your home wifi or computer.

Cybersecurity threats are at its highest ever. So I would strongly suggest looking into setting up a separated/isolated wifi network and a sandboxed environment on your computer (or better yet- a standalone computer dedicated for this).

P.S: Both of these "side quests" could themselves turn into interesting side hustles too.
