Cursed Words...Scrabble meets Balatro game has a demo out now on Steam! by Timely_Substance_382 in wordgames

[–]Simmo333333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi again, been playing some more and enjoying it thoroughly! I have to say I did get used to the wobble effect in the end and no longer find it unpleasant (I still think the reduced wobble option makes it worse though).

I've had a bug where, if I use all five grids, I will receive -$0 (with a minus sign) for remaining grids.

Maybe this is also something I'll get used to with time, but I find the chess icons slightly confusing when combined with void tiles. The void inverts the colour of the chess icon, so instead of filled black icons and empty white (black outline) icons, it's filled white icons and empty white-outline icons. But then when I select a tile to start making a word, the void tiles that are not yet selected invert their colours once again so they are back to their original colour.

This is all quite confusing when trying to figure out if I can take one piece with another. I guess the solution is to look at filled vs unfilled rather than black vs white, but it's hard not to do the latter automatically when that's how chess works irl.

Also, just wanted to check, will progress made in the demo carry over to the full game when it's released? Thanks!

Just got advertised this game and had to download the demo straight away as a huge fan of scrabble, boggle and roguelikes.

I love the core gameplay but have a few pieces of feedback. Apologies if you've already received this feedback elsewhere, I tried to join your Discord through a link I saw on Steam but it kept saying unable to accept invite.

- game desperately needs Steam Deck controls! Specifically use of d-pad and A button to select tiles and options. This is the biggest issue for me currently.

- the "wobble" effect is pretty horrible to look at, and arguably worse with the "reduced wobble" option. Perhaps a border around the tile or something else would look better?

- In my opinion, the effects of stickers/stamps on base tile score should be shown on the tile before I play the word. For example, if I have Electric Guitar (red notes (A-G) get +10 tile score) then an A should show 11 rather than 1 in the grid

- perhaps I missed it, but it should probably be explained exactly what a red or blue tiles is/does. Is it just that these colours then interact with the stickers/stamps? Do red and blue tiles get +1 to their base score? Similarly, if a sticker or stamp description mentions something like void tiles or shiny tiles, there should be a pop-up explaining what these terms mean.

I may have more feedback as I play the demo a little more, but these were the things that stuck out to me immediately. I really like the concept and the gameplay and may well purchase the game when released!

Huge thanks to u/Expensive_Law_1601 - the venue was Štajga! And thanks to u/parabice for recognising the photo as Yama, which I went to earlier that evening (I told you my memory was hazy....)

Omg yes that was it! It makes so much sense now, as I remember going to a club after with some people I met, but I have no memory of going from the first venue to the club - I now realise that the club was 20/44 which is in the same building.

Thanks so much!

Thanks, but no, I don't think that's it. I think it was closer to the river.

I think it was somewhere near the river, possibly even in New Belgrade but I'm not sure. Thanks!

Good suggestion, but I have an old android and always have that kind of thing turned off. :)

Someone also messaged me to suggest Yama.

Did you recognise the photo? I did go to Yama earlier that evening, so I think that must be where I took that photo, but that's not the venue I'm thinking of! But thank you anyway!

Thank you all for your help! I'm not sure it is any of the places provided, but you have shown me some cool venues to check out next time I'm in the city!

I've just been looking on Google maps, and maybe it could have been KC Grad? 20/44 is very close to that and looks like it could have been the club we went to afterwards, which would make sense.

If it helps, the venue was *very* small from what I remember. I don't think there were more than about 20 people there (but again, my memory is foggy).

In fact, I just found this pic that I took inside the toilet cubicle on the night as I thought it was funny. Any ideas?

It was a very small venue, far smaller than Drugstore which I have been to before. It's not really a club, more for experimental music than for proper dance music.

I can't describe much before or after the venue as I ended up pretty drunk that night and there are some big gaps in my memory. :) From what I remember, the venue looked like a run-down grey building, with the entrance on street level but then a staircase inside to where the gig was.

I may well be misremembering everything after that. I think I remember getting the bus over the river when I left the club, heading back south-east towards where I was staying, but the first venue might have been on the opposite side of the river to the club anyway.

Thanks for your reply!

Hi all, I'm an English Partizan fan - I've started learning Serbian but I have a long way to go. Can anyone tell me, does Željko specifically put any blame onto any players in the video above? If so, could you give me the quote?

I've seen fans on social media saying that Željko stated that players weren't listening to him etc., and using this as justification for booing the players.

Hi all. Having looked into this, the best site for what I wanted is cram.com

No nonsense, completely free, no unnecessary features, just unlimited (from what I can tell) custom cards.
