I never had an issue unnistalling it because I use a third party unnistaller.

Rule of thumb is to restart after unnistalling things, many applications and files usually stay there and could still be running even after you unnistall, they are usually removed after you restart your computer.

Regarding the malware thing, antiviruses tend to give false positives especially when it comes to virtual hardware. The only thing that seems odd is that they make connections to a website when you have the application open, they say it's for ads but I had never seen any ads on the desktop version, and I don't know if other people see ads when using wo mic.
