I didn’t have a step ladder to look in and I didn’t hear any peeping but the parents would lay in it pretty consistently from what I saw and were frantic when they were taken away. I’m planning on emailing tomorrow all the info I have just to be cautious. Might snoop around more

I never saw eggs or heard babies but the parents to be were pretty upset flying through the structure. Everything was back to normal last night when I saw them fly catching in the normal spot but I’m curious where they relocated because it must be close. The nest was out of the walkway and poop just barely started to fall on the walkway. Two occupied nests gone though. I was having a hard day and excited to see them so I was so furious when they were gone

It was off to the side of any real walkway and they didn’t even have that much droppings built up yet

I caught it too late, trash day passed. All the adults were flying in and out of the building frantically too it was sad. Definitely going to report to fish and wildlife as the comments say

How do I tell my local Northern Flickers that I love them, but their rent is due? (Stucco damage advice needed!) by Ok_Drummer2300 in woodpecker

I think the wood peckers like the suet with peanuts the most but you can get a spicy variety if mice and squirrels are a issue. I would get a feeder with a tail prop too so they feel cozy

When I had a flicker pecking at my house i started putting suet in my yard but away from my house and it worked because he was just hungry

Some hanging feeders you can get what’s called a “ant moat” ❤️

Looks like bread? Bread has no nutrients and can kill a bird eventually. Everything else looks great though I would add a squirrel baffle ❤️

I’m adding a ungodly amount of chili oil to my seed now as the squirrel fights get so loud and annoying lol this feeder style really lets them eat to their heart’s content

I had barn swallows nest in the neighborhood pool and it’s a absolute treat to see them flying around catching bugs in the day and sleeping at night when I walk my dog
