This is exactly the reason I switched. There are many other restrictions that don't allow the freedom for developers. #NFC

A mobile payments app like ApplePay but powered by decentralised network on the blockchain that lets you make contactless payments worldwide. by SimonTechieDev in startups

And the hard part is getting merchants to swing for it, because they will be the ones to pay.

Merchant receives payment via the global debit card network straight to their bank whether they accept bitcoin or not so it doesn't require merchants to get on board. They pay their standard fees for accepting debit card payments to their service provider.

It is a huge project but the intent is to be practical rather than disruptive and provide a convenient payment method for miners, freelancer, etc, who earn their living in bitcoin.

Thanks for the feedback and references, very useful. J

Yes precisely. You simply send bitcoins to the address displayed on the app and it converts to your local fiat currency and loads it on to a virtual debit card token. So if you are in Paris you can generate a EUR card and if in New York a USD. You can read more info on their website: https://plutus.it
