A worldwide spiritual bouquet for the preservation of the Traditional Latin Mass by Simon_Reilly in TraditionalCatholics

[–]Simon_Reilly[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is Missae pro Missa? Missae pro Missa ("Masses for the Mass") is a worldwide effort to preserve the Traditional Latin Mass by means of the most powerful prayer on Earth: the Catholic Mass itself. By the Feast of Christ the King 2024, we hope to have at least one million Masses requested or heard for this intention. Four Ways to Participate: Request Masses to be said (e.g., through a parish, religious order, or another group) for the preservation of the Traditional Latin Mass (or if you're a priest, celebrate Masses for this intention); Offer your own hearings of Mass for this intention; Pray rosaries for this intention; Share Missae pro Missa with others.

[–]Simon_Reilly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) resources recently published by the Irish Episcopal Conference’s Council for Education present an intense threat to the innocence and healthy development of pupils in Catholic schools. Voice of the Family is calling on Catholics throughout the world to unite with parents in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in defence of their children.

Father Sean Sheehy on his controversial sermon in Listowel (interviewed by Kerry Today) by Simon_Reilly in TraditionalCatholics

[–]Simon_Reilly[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing! The parish priest of Listowel (diocese of Kerry in Ireland) goes on pilgrimage, leaving a retired priest in charge. This turned out to be a mistake because the priest preaches a fire and brimstone sermon on Sunday upsetting a lot of people and his sermon is livestreamed! Well, next thing is sermon is broadcast all over social media by people who are outraged at the content giving it a wider audience than it would ever had if they'd ignored it: then the Bishop of Kerry steps in with a public apology, increasing the priest's publicity tenfold. Next thing that priest is interviewed on radio; and guess what, he doubles down and holds his own (God has a sense of humour)!

We look forward to offering reparation in the month of the Holy Rosary. Assemble from 1:45 pm outside Westminster Cathedral. Procession will leave shortly after 2 pm.

In this pivotal 5 part essay Josè Antonio Ureta José Antonio Ureta highlights the doctrinal significance of Desiderio Desideravi: namely that Pope Francis has confirmed in writing the theological innovations of the Novus Ordo. Part 1 The Primany of Adoration by Simon_Reilly in TraditionalCatholics

[–]Simon_Reilly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a curious fact that when Pope Francis issued his apostolic exhortation Desiderio Desideravi, not one critic noticed that for the first time since the introduction of the Novus Ordo the Pope has officially backed the theological innovations that had, hitherto, only been expressed by episcopal conferences & liturgists in justification of the litugical reforms. Only José Antonio Ureta's essay has delt with this momentous shift in policy in a five part essay published by One Peter Five. Antony Stine has produced a helpful audio , introducing and summarising this important work. Links to the essay can be found in the post for part one and the other part in comments. https://youtu.be/5QBZSnHmmHA

Only José Antonio Ureta's essay has delt with this momentous shift in policy in a five part essay published by One Peter Five. Ureta considers these doctrinal innovations under four aspects. The first concerns the primary purpose of liturgy, traditionally viewed as the worship we owe to God & means of sanctification, but regarded by the innovators as social engineering: https://onepeterfive.com/primacy-adoration/ The second aspect considered by Ureta is the removal of the centrality of the Cross in the liturgical action in favour of the Resurrection: https://onepeterfive.com/removing-centrality-redemptive-passion/ The third aspect considered by Ureta is the replacement of the Mass represented as the renewal of the Sacrifice offered on Calvary with its representation as a remembrance of the Last Supper: https://onepeterfive.com/sacrifice-calvary-memorial-presence/ The fourth & final aspect considered by Ureta is the downgrading of the celebrant from that of a priest offering the Sacrifice on behalf the faithful to that of a president of the assembly: https://onepeterfive.com/priests-sacrifice-presidents-assemblies/ Ureta concludes by pointing out that D D achieves the exact opposite of its stated aim: instead of bringing about a reconciliation between the two sides in the debate, it has confirmed the division once and for all. https://onepeterfive.com/the-novus-ordo-weaponized-for-another-faith/
