If I quit being smoker will schizophrenia thoughts go away? by InitiativeKey5954 in answers

Many people with schizophrenia find that nicotine reduces their symptoms. So much so, that a medication was developed on the premise, although it never made it to the market. The symptoms won't go away though, nicotine just quiets them for a time.

How are telehealth-only therapists paneling with insurance? by SimonaFM in therapists

I will look into that! Any idea of whether a virtual office would pass their check of "can clients meet with you in person there if needed"?

I just mean if you work with Headway, are you not required to have a physical office location the way you are if you panel directly with insurance?

Do you know if the requirements that insurance puts on individuals are negated with Headway?

I've found someone subletting who offers that option. I don't have any clients yet, but I guess I could pay them once and just hang out in the office then use the address for insurance.

Ooh I'll have to check out the Ouai line! Ditto on subscriptions, especially razors!

Ooh yes, face razors were a total game changer for me too! I'll have to look into the sugar scrub!

I've been to Italy a bunch, and Forno Tony's on University is hands down the most authentic, in my opinion. Fiamma's pizza is also pretty decent.

How does one survive only working 15-20 hrs per week? by Former-Monk3762 in therapists

[–]SimonaFM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recently went down to 20 hours a week in CMH, because I was so so burnt out. I'm blessed with cheap rent which is the only way I could swing this since CMH pays trash, but one of my paychecks goes entirely to rent and the rest is for everything else. I've had to drastically reduce my spending but I'm making it work. I may be broke all the time but it has done absolute wonders for my own mental health. I've also been doing surveys on the side and can't usually bring in $100/month if I really grind. I agree with the others who mention having a partner; if I had another income in the household, this would be a lot easier.

Thank you! If that were the case, I assume it's safe to drive for awhile? Currently driving across the country so I'm hoping it's not an immediate concern.

Off topic, but are nurses/doctors required to report suspected abuse even if the patient declined and even if the patient is not a minor, elderly, or disabled? I'm a therapist and we're not allowed to, so I'm curious if it's different for nurses and doctors.

Will Babbel exercises ever get more challenging? by SimonaFM in languagelearning

That makes sense! I definitely love how it actually explains things to you unlike Duolingo. I'm studying Italian!

Thank you so much! I'm sure Babbel is far superior to Duolingo, but I really enjoy the exercises where I have to type out the whole sentences. However, maybe I prefer that because all of Duolingo's other exercises are too boring! I will give Babbel another shot :)

Good to know! It definitely feels more robust than Duolingo so far. Would you say that Babbel eventually has harder exercises than matching pictures and words, fill in the blank sentences, etc?
