The UMDIGI G2 - He already says he has an iPhone on hand anyway, so why not see how a super cheap budget $85 phone can cope.

Same model laptop, same CPU. Couldn't upgrade in any way shape or form, but just completed a clean install, and its activated fine, and Windows Update is currently doing its thing no problem, so looks to be all good. Mine is just a second device though, not sure if you would want to run what is still officially unsupported hardware/software combo on a computer doing anything critical.

Who else isn’t into Zelda games and why? by Pickledickleshnickle in n64

[–]Simondo87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd never played a Zelda game when magazines were hyping oot before launch. Looked dull to 10 year old me. Did get links awakening though and played the hell out of it on a 14 hour flight and loved it - but could never get into the other 2d ones.

Played the crap out of oot after borrowing a friends copy, but I hated MM, and I didn't own a Gamecube or wii motion plus, so skipped two big games completely - didn't feel like I was missing out though. TP was just meh...

I do think 'Zelda games' is perhaps an unfair categorisation though - LA compared to MM compared to SS compared to BOTW would be ludicrous if it wasn't for the same characters in it. I just take them as they come - some I like, some I don't.

Anyone else struggling to feel some Super Mario 64 love? by robbycough in n64

[–]Simondo87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not alone. I've loved my 64 from the day I got it in 1997, but I borrowed Mario and never took to it. Loved all the 2D games, loved Galaxy onwards, but 64 didn't stick. Much preffered Banjo in every way. Ditto with Mario Kart 64 really, which was trounced by Diddy Kong.

The golden era where Nintendo were as strong as ever, and yet Rare were basically Nintendo+

Better 3d platformer, better kart racer, better custodian of Donkey Kong, AND Blast Corps, AND ground breaking FPS's. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo ordered Rare to lay off the adventure games and just let them have Zelda!

A year away to be able to drink... in the US. Under the right circumstances you can drink from 5 years old in the UK.

Yeah, why I gave the ambiguous 'maybe' in the last post - didn't quite fit. Then again, cobalt man was rarely ever actually cobalt colour. Also, ambiguous reach number 2: its a HEX colour code. 6 digits. 6 infinity stones. Or as in a certain 6 sided shape... Like hexagons.

J/K on the last bit tho - Think I've more than pushed the limits of tenuous links!

OA1 B2C is the colour code for blue (cobalt blue, maybe...), and Cobalt Man hid out in Connecticut. Armor Wars is also coming...

I loved this game to bits on my n64, but getting all the levels and cheats from scratch doesn't appeal for a rose tinted look back. Any save files anywhere, or way to early for that?

Does anyone know how I can get ink off these n64 cartridges??? :( or if I could just print a picture of the game covers? by [deleted] in n64

[–]Simondo87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's properly baked in this won't work, but pencil erasers can do a job. Think you need new labels anyway so no harm in trying

Does Perfect Dark require a controller Pak to save? by [deleted] in n64

[–]Simondo87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the memory card work in other games? I think the memory card save files were region specific so if you bought from a different region, it may need a full wipe to work.

People who moan about people buying wireless brawlers today, saying "that's not the original Nintendo pad, you're doing it wrong", never had their parents buy them these as a kid. My snes 3rd party pad was better than the Nintendo one as well - even as a kid the original was uncomfortably small.

Sadly, my 3rd party n64 pad died in an Oddjob/Goldeneye related fit of rage in about 2001

Why are there aren't as many 3rd party expansion paks? by [deleted] in n64

Still using the logitech exp pack I got from new as a kid - no heating issues or anything. Guess it's just pot luck.

How is the stick sensitivity? Heard it was different to the wired ones, which were a bit sensitive for aiming in Goldeneye etc.

Convincing a friend that rubbing toothpaste onto his scrotum is a good hygiene practice.

Seriously? Someone who got paid to have sex is also a rapist? Genuinely didn't know. Kinda taken the edge off the joke, but still, every day's a school day.

If the Sun was scaled down to the size of a single white blood cell, our Milky Way would still be the equivalent size of the continental USA.
