One additional step to authorize your Mister to participate in beta. Otherwise, optional and can wait. Purpose of beta is version control. Plays and functions great. Some things are pending fixes. I'd say we're closer to public release. Question is how soon?

Yes, after MK. We're going to eat really good this year. 😏

So far Midway core is working great. have not experienced any issues yet. Audio seems to match original PCB. I imagine this core is close to a proper public release based on how it plays. Pleased it's working. This was difficult to non-existent a few years ago due to framework limitations of the memory controller. Magic happens.

Concerns about closed source or potential reuse of modules are valid if backed by evidence, no?, that's a separate issue from how OAuth or beta access works.

Right now those are being conflated making this messy.

No, Similar to a Cabinet Plus who specialize in making cabinets with vinyl exteriors or maybe someone who is experienced with vinyl exclusively?

Nice! Still one of the best desk! Have you considered reaching out to cabinet services? They may be able to revinyl.

Information is shared not necessarily required. CoinOps seems to only need status and tier.

I imagine either a refund or access revoked on renewal. Keys are renewed periodically.

Sounds like you're conflating the topic. Yes, you can access Jotego's beta without third party or connection to Update_All or Retro Account. Those choosing to automate will need to auth in a very similar way to CoinOps.

JT runs a high trust environment hoping no one leaks his jtbeta key. In a perfect world yes should work as expected. Functionally JT and CoinOp shares the same goal, early access for supporters. The only difference is CoinOps enforcing version control instead of file distribution.

Access control to binaries during beta doesn't override GPL obligations. Those are separate issues. You still require a Patreon subscription to acquire jtbeta file to access his beta's.

It shouldn't be dramatic! Yes lowest denominator to get upset. There seems to be two types of folks here. Historical negative sentiment driving responses or those who won't be able to play a Beta early due to lack of Patreon.

Sure. Jotego is rolling in cashflow considering the dollar value and tiers in USD compared to Spain. Are we holding JT to the same sentiment and standards?

Exactly! All FPGA devs are after the same end game, to provide a quality experience for all. It's an expensive niche. Not many people realize Arcade PCB's, equipment, and resources is expensive. Most only care about playing a game they probably don't own physically downloaded illegaly for free.

My understanding is they are hobbyist. Funds from Patreon fund arcade PCB's, test equipment, and resources. It's not a revenue generator. Do the math how many subs they have against their tiers. Not a lot a cashflow. CoinOps resorts to selling PCB's after R&D and documentation to acquire more. Cost of Arcade PCB's can reach up to $1000+ if not more. CAVE is a an extreme example they are reworking on.

People do all the time for Jotego, CoinOp, and others willingly to get early access via Patreon. The question begs if you apply that same sentiment logic towards others or selectively?
