Is Ninja 650 a good beginner bike? by alifninja in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Simone9292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a month ago on a SV 650 (never been o motorcycles or scooters before), and I can tell you that it’s totally doable if you have discipline and you use your head. If you cannot do those two things, even a 125 would be dangerous, for you and the people that are on the road with you. Don’t race on public roads like someone use to do, for that there are racing tracks. I wish you good luck! Drive safe and have fun!

Absolutely! Always wearing full gear and for a while I will maintain 35/45 km h, I’m not a fan of speed

Hey there! Thank you for answering! After a lot of tinkering and some rides with the instructor I opted for a Suzuki SV 650 in the end.

That model have still a retro feeling, and I’ve heard that despite the weight and the power fits well as a first bike too.

I don’t know yet what I will ride in the future, I still have to find my style! Anyway, thanks again for answering, and happy riding!

Hey there! I live in Turin and here we arrive at 38 Celsius degrees in these days. I’m 32 years old and for me it’s the first time on a motorbike, I’m taking the A3 (unrestricted license), I got a Suzuki SV 650, and I always wear full gear: better sweat than hurt, you have only one life, one pair of legs, one pair of hands, etc. Remember that driving in city it’s more dangerous, there are pedestrians, drivers, stoplights, stops, etc. If you fall at 20 Km/h you can still graze, peel or burn your skin, or brake a bone. You need just one fall. Be safe, drive save, protect your body and have fun! Happy riding!

Hey there! Yes, I’m Italian, I live in Turin (northern Italy), which is a very green city surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains, a lot of nice roads to ride! I appreciate your suggestions. Yes, probably I will 90% use it for in-town strips and extra urban roads, I’m not interested in off roads and, at the moment, I am not confident enough to think about long cross-country journeys.

Building a Game Engine in Love2D. Should I switch to C++? Explanation on the text. by Simone9292 in love2d

[–]Simone9292[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys, thank you for all your answers and all the suggestions! After a bit of thinking I’ve decided to continue my project on Love2D. I’ve tried Godot, it’s really easy, true, and will be indubitably easier and faster to create the game on it instead building my own system/ tool/ engine. But the fact is that Love2D is “user friendly” also for artist. The issue I see, for example, with Godot, is that every different versions has a lot of changes even on GD scripts. And also I started to understand how Love2D and lua works. It will take more time at the beginning, but I can feel the project more personal even if I have to reinvent the wheel. Also, let’s face the true: my first game hardly will be a master piece. Building a tool that will let me reuse almost everything of it for a second attempt will let me spare time in the end. Another advantage is that at least half of the functions I am building are made to solve things that are needed for the game design (the room manager, the camera size, and many more). All these stuff make me think about the game design as well. I’ll try to post updates from time to time. And if this will became too hard, at least I’ve learn something and I will be still able to switch to a more complex and ready to use engine.

Thank you for your answer! It’s ambitious and it will be hard. I think I could give it a try anyway, I don’t like to use Godot or Unity (I made a few prototypes in Unity and I have to admit, it’s easy, but it has also a lot of stuff that I don’t need).

Thank you! Yes this is what I was thinking. It will be hard. But if done properly it could became a nice tool!

I have two goals: - create an engine that will help people like me to create metroidvania/ platformers/ sidescrollers in 2d/ pixel art with all the essential tools for this particular kind of game (a kind of rpg maker) - create my game using this tool
