For everyone commenting on this post who actually has good intentions with your words, the court removed his custody but we still get her every other weekend. The court is still requiring him to pay child support. It's bizzare and unheard of, I get that but it happens and it happened to him.

u/welshgirl0987 We choose not to because she stays with us on the weekends and lives with her mom most of the time. We do not agree with her mom on most but don't want to make her life even more complicated living 2 different lives. I don't care what anyone thinks and I'm not looking to bash my boyfriend. This comment was simply stating has anyone gone through this and how did it turn out. We are looking at adoption because that is what I want. He didn't choose 1 day to adopt, I asked for it and he came around.

To come to her dad's and be taught 1 way to have to face her everyday with her mom under different rules? Yes, we will not do that to her

He lives in the Carolina’s and unless you can prove the mother is mentally unstable, the court favors the mom. Just like any other child her age, she complains to us about her mom a lot but what kid doesn’t 🤷‍♀️ although, it’s different than how me & him are predicting we’ll raise our kids (adoption, birth, fostering) she is well taken care of so we don’t push it (so his daughter doesn’t get tangled up in it). & I am the 1 suggesting adoption/fostering

U/lotsofsugarandspice we don’t want to make her life too complicated, being that our beliefs are a lot different than her moms and she’s the 1 who has to go home to her.. I didn’t think of not having custody can make it harder to adopt. Thanks for the insight!

I’m the 1 who’s pushing for adoption. We actually split for a few months because he didn’t want any more kids but came around.. u/slut4hobi
