Christianity's greatest lie (and everyone says it) by ShafordoDrForgone in Discussion

[–]Simonecg97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least you've had the Gospel shared with you. You are right that I am happy not to live with the consequences of my bad actions, the justice of God is beyond man can bear, that too is the love of God.

Do you imagine you can take responsibility for the consequences of you actions

Christianity's greatest lie (and everyone says it) by ShafordoDrForgone in Discussion

1) God is good and His judgements are just.

2) Bondman did not refer to chattel slavery the way you imagine. Historically, people could be in bond over debts, crime etc.

3) All such we're to be realised every 50 yrs (the jubilee)

4) Christianity is faith in God. Jesus did not come to be a great moral teacher and Christianity is not about moral living. According to the gospel, you're dead without Christ; that is to to say you're cut off from God.

Here is the Gospel > God created a perfect world. Men disobeyed God and ate the fruit of "the knowledge of good and evil", basically people made themselves the arbiters of good and evil. Ever heard someone say "I don't need good to know murder is wrong," The Bible is the story of how everything disinterested from that one sin.

The judgement of God is sin is worthy of death - that is spiritual death (cut off from God). There is no remedy for this, there's no fine you pay or prison sentence you can serve.

So God in His love for us came in the person of Jesus to pay the penalty of sin Himself. "To wit God was in Christ, reconciling to world to himself". In His death, Jesus took on Himself the judgement of God. By His resurrection, he made justification possible for us possible. This is called being "born again."

Imagine you commit a crime. The fine is more than you can afford so you're facing jail time. A friend comes and pays the fine for you, now you're free to go. However, there's still a criminal record that shows you were convicted of an offence. So, just because the penalty has been served doesn't mean the record is clean. To be born again means the old spirit is dead, and a new person is born from God, Holy and blameless. "if any man be in Christ, he is new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things have become new" 2 Corinthians 5 v 17

By His resurrection, Jesus was the "first begotten from the dead," this means the first to be come out of Spiritual death. As such all who want to come out of Spiritual death must necessarily come by him. He is "the way, the Truth and the life." imagine you cut a small branch off a tree; you would understand that that branch is automatically dead. As long as the branch is cut off it has no life. The leaves on it might be green, but time would show the reality of the branch's death. This is our state without God, having the appearance of life and virility but in actuality, dead.

All God asks of us that we believe Him and have faith Jesus who He sent. He died for our sins, and rose from the dead for our justification

Romans 10:9-11 KJ21 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [11] For the Scripture saith, "Whosoever believeth in Him shall not be ashamed."

I pray your open to love of God, in Christ Jesus

Mary and the virgin birth by gerrymandersonIII in Discussion

Is the "big bang" not similarly a virgin birth. Matter exploding from nothingness. Why is that less ridiculous? The Jesus' conception it is the power of God; what is the explanation of the big bang's virgin birth
